hello (after a big break...)

here i am in tassie again.... unfortunately not able to see my kids as often as i'd like - time/money/ex issues involved and needing to be sorted out.
HE is away in qld again, back on the boat - trying to keep the damn thing seaworthy so's it can be sold sometime. HE'll be back in about 2 weeks, and then it's on for the duration to get ourselves set up again with house, jobs, etc.

I've been better although after this Christmas, things won't be the same. Some life changing things to attend to, however after gettiing over a shoulder problem I now find myself with a painful knee. Not sure why, may be this getting older thing is finally catching up with me.

Hey the cricket over there is really turning into an interesting game. The weather here is warm again but will cool off over the weekend.

I've read the first few posts on the above thread and I'd have to agree with one of the posters in regard to you being brave enough to post your opening comments. I got some not so nice health news just before Christmas which I'm still coming to terms with. But it certainly helps to talk about problems and issues if for no other reason than to hear your thoughts out loud. I must say I get annoyed at definitions and what is considered how one should be as if there is some ideal type. I think more people think about what you attempted than they are willing to admit. Anyway that is a huge topic. I hope you find your happy place or at least a comfortable place.

Boy Puss is one of the nicer nicknames I have given my cat! I was also calling him Bubbles at one point....I definitely think the other neighbourhood cats were laughing at him then.

Cricket this....cricket that.... it's all I have heard about all week. I'm Australian, but I will never understand the attraction of cricket (playing or watching).

I'm out to watch my boyfriend at his band rehearsal tonight - it's the first time I've been invited! I think I'll have to dress appropriately - groupie chick! (Just to make sure he takes me home )

Dark Elf, I won't intrude on your privacy but hope that your health problems respond to treatment, and you're with us for a long long time. My ear and shoulder are only a pm away if you'd like a faceless friend to chat too.

Funny how things come in threes isn't it. Someone I've cared for for several years, but who worked overseas, is now back home for good, and is with me. After years of waiting we're finally together, and a few weeks ago he was diagnosed with a couple of malignant brain tumours. He's receiving treatment which is knocking him around badly. Just doesn't seem fair does it?

But life goes on. We all have our battles to face and fight. WQ and Dark Elf.. I hope your battles are brief and victorious.

I know I'm pretty new around here and my opinion probably doesn't mean much but here it goes.

I have a fair few friends who have been in similar situations to you, who've attempted or threatened to. One of my closest friends is under strict control with sleeping meds since her last attempt, if she was ever successful I don't know what I'd do.

She is an amazing, funny, bright girl who has had to deal with too much shit in her life and there's not much I can do other than try and be a friend. She has told me I'd get over it if she succeeded, but I never really would. Hell I think about the people I barely knew who succeeded and sometimes it makes me lose hope.

But I'm getting distracted from the point, which is you can never understand the impact you can have on another life for the better. I've seen the welcome you got here, so obviously you're one hell of a woman. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who'd never be the same again if you were gone, or someone you'd never meet who could just really use a friend like you.

The close friend I mentioned earlier I've only known for about a year and a half, but if it wasn't for her I doubt I'd be alive today. I owe her that much, wish I could properly express it to her. So even if you can't find meaning there probably is one out there.

Oh and whoever released you without organising some proper counseling should be slapped... Take care, and I'll go back to lurking.

A quick bit RE : the gloomy issue. I'm in two minds about if I should comment - please don't take offence, anyone. My mother(s...I'm adopted, so have two) both threatened. One mother ended up in hospital 3 times. I can't help but feel that they were trying to punish others (ie our family) rather than to escape from their problems. Ending things will never fix the issue - it will leave it unresolved for eternity. Personally, I've had my fair share of bad cards dealt....but I'd rather be one to take love to my grave, rather than sorrow.


Anywho - change of topic. IT'S SATURDAY!

And I've just managed to reach my 1000 posts! So now I'm going to go to the gym and try to think up an original title to give myself.
I hope everyone is good....or bad and enjoying it.
