Rhys

hello friend.

if we're thinking statues, might as well be thinking functionality, right?

I am. I am here. Leaving is on my mind right now, though.

You know, I won't talk you out of it. I won't talk you into it either. In the end, you have to decide if there is anything worthwhile here.

Or you have a gigantic ignore list, like I do. :D

i agree. looks like it would take a while to wear him down, too..

if he were on display at my place of employment, i'd get fired so fast.

Okay, now I'm determined...

Snake's av reminds me of a painting...like Rhys said, Cupid or some such mythical figure, Renaissance...I'm thinking...Titian?

Licking the statue is not in the contract!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw the resemblance.

Lol, I just added 6 people today! It went from 2 to 8.

there is a gorgeous life-size marble sculpture of a drunken pan...but after googling 60 pages of 'pan sculpture' i couldn't find it.

it's all i can do to keep my hands off of him, really. but i hadta get on several patrons today who tried to feel him up.

Thanks :)

FYI its not going to bother me when you compliment me I'l flattered lol.

Good to know. I'm also more up front than most posters. Yes, I am trying to get into your pants.

:D

Caravaggio, it just has to be. Now if I could remember the damn painting...

Think there's a couple which would work.

I didn't see the resemblance til you mentioned it.

Later:
Now that I've cleared Caravaggio from my mind, I also find it quite evocative of David's "Death of Marat". Perhaps a combination of the literary theme, play of light, etc.

Huh, first time that's happened.

The wild reactions straight guys getting hit on by somone of the same sex always amuses me. I think its not a matter of them not being able to fully trust themselves saying just 'no thanks' so they put on a wild reaction.

I looked long at Death of Marat as well. And I looked at Caravaggio's David and Goliath.
None are the one I'm thinking of.

It's the eyes.

Somewhat evocative of Bernini's David...

It's that nagging insistence of an image you catch out of the corner of your eye. An urgent need to feel that satisfying *whap* of hand to forehead when you remember.
