Purple Rain

Please do not expect cinematic magnificence in fact 'rough' is an apt descriptive. Filmed on a Sony Cybershot camera I had purchased only a few hours prior and hand held as I viewed the fireworks not by lense but rather by eye. I have thrown a title on and overlaid Purple Rain by Prince to make it slightly more palatable. Visuals cut out at approximately 5mins 20 seconds.

It's authentic, for the curious about aspects of Australia it may be of interest. New Year Eve on Sydney Harbour is mecca for those that have the opportunity to do so.

Hey beautiful!! I have not seen you in forever, it seems. I love those shots. I saw the fireworks over Sydney on the tube on New Years. I always love it each year.

: laughs : Thanks Avalon, not sure the camera was designed for that evenings festivities. I tried taking stills at the 'family fireworks show' earlier in the evening and blur is an understatement. Too busy currently to mess around with editing, it does catch the 'feel'. The crowd was going nuts. You can see some very disorientated birds flying around in the middle of all that, I hadn't noticed them until the upload. Poor things.

Much as I enjoy the views of the water, I think my favorite photo is the last. Despite being crowded, so many are relaxed and sprawled out with their family and friends. It makes your eyes move around, taking in what each group is doing.

I need to come down there to visit you, as it is freaking freezing here. No wetsuit, even the darn warm suits will get me to surf right now. My nips would cut through the fabric. Though, I still wake expecting to go out. LOL I am getting the heebie jeebies just hiking, biking and fishing right now.

Thank you Collette and that image is my absolute favorite as well. That's families camped out and staking out their ground waiting for the 8.30pm fireworks. The whole area goes into lock down.

We were on 'vacation' staying in the City, people needed passes to get into those areas after 1pm. There is a lovely equality to it . The families tend to dissipate and the night time revelers take over. It's an alcohol free zone, heavily policed from shut down, cool that people can bring grandma and the kids and enjoy it .

Oh my, thank you for the nipple update ! Really that cold ? I have spent a few Christmas/New Years in Hawaii, cold is not a word I would have used. Planning on cutting diamonds with those nipples later darling one ?

It was a fabulous day, beyond my wildest dreams. Kidlet woke up sick and projectile vomited all over the charcoal grey luxury carpet of my glamorarse hotel suite. Twice <<<

I phone concierge because housekeeping wasn't answering "Houston we are having technical difficulties " . Spent the entire day playing nurse maid :laughing: Honestly, if you're not masochistic step up the birth control I say.

Honey, I am off the coast of North Carolina now. I go back and visit Hawaii to surf.

I said to the kidlet "Honey, do you want to come out on the balcony and watch the fireworks " ( 8.30pm family session ). He answered "No, I am going to watch it on TV". I mean we had ceiling to floor glass wall panoramic views if I could just get him to turn his head a few degrees. I say we mail the kidlet to Uncle Gravyrug or Uncle Atmas or someone and you and I take off to to some nefarious digs on Maui !
