Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I’d give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I’d tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I’d make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always

What little bit of sunshine makes you high?

For me, it is seeing joy and hapiness in another persons eyes that I might bring.

Other times...it is just witnessing the beauty of nature and thinking..Wow...what did I do to deserve this?

So I ask....what little bit of sunshine touches your shoulders? What little bit of sunshine makes you smile?

Yep...it's corny and oozing with sweetness....but we all NEED it from time to time.

"Sunshine" is the owners of those lyrics suing your tail off for violating their copyright. (Sorry, just couldn't resist. It's a writer's site where we should be aware of and sensitive to copyright violation.)

Well, we are all fucked if they look at LIT radio.

Good point. But not all of us. "Others do it" won't stand in court, however. Not trying to be nasty. Perhaps you just don't know. But this is a slap at whoever owns those lyrics, and this is a site where writers dwell and have interest in their own copyright protection (so should have respect for the copyright of others too).

Ohhh so it you YOUR name I saw listed in the dictionary under Killjoy?

There seems to be a dark cloud covering the sunshine.....

Lets TRY to get back to the spirit of the thread......

Aside from my feeling that John Denver wrote the most insipid lyrics... ;)

Sunshines in my life include; watching my teenaged kids work together! on various projects, and that flash of "I can do that!" that happens when they've accomplished their goal. And the same with their friends. My house is the art house, or one of them.

It's the little things for me. Like when my students wrote about how I fail at being evil. Or when they come and ask me the most random questions (unrelated to my field) and add "Well, we figured you would know).

Or maybe hysterical laughter with my family over the holiday table, when I know that two parents that are functional and like each other, along with a sibling I get along with are far from the norm.

Corny indeed, but it does make me smile.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

I can't tell you how many times I've sung that song to my daughter. As a baby, she wasn't fussy often, but when she was, singing that to her would make her stop crying. The problem was that I'd have to keep singing then, endlessly. I miss those baby days.

Stella, you make me proud to be human.

:rose:
You have similar goals, I think. :rose:

To be honest though, these kids are already in a sort of artistically elite situation. One big reason their friends come to my house to create is because some of them are the children of big-time artists who can't keep their hands out of the kids' work (Something that I've had to train myself away from).

I just give them the space, and find answers to questions when they need 'em.
I can share a lot of skills... but these kids have more talent than I will ever have.
