A fun win. Went to bed before it was over but I had a strong feeling Kansas would come out on top.

It is indeed.

I don't think many people in Lawrence slept last night. Vendors were hawking Orange Bowl winner T-shirts on every corner five minutes after the game ended. There were horns honking, people partying hard, even on a weeknight. Very sweet.

And hundreds of people met the team when they landed at Forbes Field in Topeka today.

No one expected KU to win, and many complained that they were even in a BCS bowl in the first place, especially after the loss to Mizzou.

But they proved they've got the stuff, and Mangino proved he's the man.

Vindication. It's very sweet.

We've been solid fans all along and it's a damn fine feeling.

We'll send our energies your way Monday night.
