We're going to be too pooped to party....two nights of speedway (Boxing Night and last night) and another night on New Year's Day plus next Friday AND Saturday nights...the last two times it was 1am before I got to bed and Gil was later than that because of his insomnia.

Last year I think we had about three parties going on around us plus someone let off fireworks at midnight....some idiot DJ had the music turned up that loud we could hear it through brick walls and closed windows, wouldn't be so bad except it was really CRAP music!!

Is it just me or is NY not as exciting as it was when I was 16? Back then it seemed full of wild possabilities, chances to sneak of and get drunk without getting caught.
The excitment of it seems to have diminished somewhat.

At least there isn't a HUGE Hallmark holiday market for it, because it kinda gets subsumed into all the Christmas blah. A week isn't long enough to market it, not like the two month break to V Day, then a month to St Patricks, a month to Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day - you get the idea.

I wonder when the card companies will start trying to sell us Thanksgiving?

It is fabulous today. Sun is shining, Not to hot and everything looks fantastic.

Glad to here that your dad is improving.... and making him stay 'til he is right is best all round otherwise he might end up back ther soom=ner rather than later!

As for your jaw/ear ache.....don't wait too long to have it checked.... mine was an abscess under a tooth that is now a root canal job....aaarrrggghhhh!
Painful AND expensive!

Yeah, I know, I know. I've not had an abcess before, but I've been told about them. I just know that if it IS, then the antibiotics they'll give me will make me feel worse than I do now. I'll wait until tomorrow...it's still sore, but not too bad.

My boyfriend promised me last night that he's going to play/sing me the somg he's been writing for me tomorrow! YAY! I've been waiting months to hear it! He's good at starting songs...but not so good at finishing them.

My oldest brother just makes me so mad.

To cut this short I’ll only cover two years. Last year, my parents started to build a “Granny-Flat” onto the side of the house for my brother to live in, this is a very expensive thing to do as well as time consuming. But it does not bother me, what does however, is how he ignores the sacrifice building it costs my parents.

The state health department sent my brother to Melbourne this year for a conference and he also got a free holiday in Brisbane at the end. Then the government paid a nice contribution to a $4,500 wheelchair for him, and then also helped towards the price for a very large Gym system.

I heard last month, what he was planning for Christmas and why. He said he was getting everyone next to nothing this year as he sick of doing a lot of giving, but getting very little in return. That is total bullshit. I heard this when I got back from a holiday which cost me $6,500 of my own money.

Too make it worse, I spent almost $400 on his presents, and he didn’t thank me. Then on boxing day, he started to tell me how he wants me to give him $800 in April.

So therefore, I hate Christmas.

So does your brother also keep how he gets these things with you or is it secret?

Time to start google up & find what gov agencies.

Ooooo scrabble! I haven't played that in years - but I love it. I'm totally addicted to all types of word games.

I'm going out to dinner tonight with my boyfriend. I finally got the dress I ordered in the post on Friday (or was it Thursday?) so I'm going to surprise him with it. I'll have to change before going out though.

Other news - I have a jaw/ear ache. I can't decide if it's a jaw/tooth infection or an ear infection. Either way, it's not bad enough to wait for hours at the after-hours GP - especially not on Saturday night. I don't think I'll be drinking tonight.

Dad is looking better again today. They want to keep him in hospital until at least Monday. Mum isn't going to take him home until he's ACTUALLY better this time. They keep sending him home 1/2 fixed, only for him to have to come back again.

Seems the in thing with the hospial system, get them out ASAP regardless but on the other hand I'm sure they keep me in way to long .

My pops been in hospital the last few days, aneurysm, surgeon operates on Thurs and Fri so waiting to hear what the go is...
I have an extra child too, lol. My best friends just rushed her daughter to hospital and we are playing the waiting game on that one too.
But I have her son here with my kids... Was a mad scramble to rework dinner cause he is very fussy... They all just got 2min noodles. Something I know they all eat...
I really should find something to eat myself but not sure I have the energy...lol

Goodness! I hope all is okay with your friends daughter and that Pops (dad? Or granddad?) surgery goes well on Friday. Aneurysms are scary things...any one at any age. I hope you manage to get a little sleep tonight.

I didn't visit my dad the last time he was in hospital, not about to start caring now...lol
My friends daughter is ok, all diagnosed and given medication.
One kids about to go home another to bed, followed in 35mins for the other one..

They had them at the local $2 shop near our place & have seen them in other shops too, also had kids costumes for halloween too.

Awww *hugs* I know that feeling well. Total exhaustion. Have a good cry...and possibly some chocolate. Things will settle down eventually.
I managed to have not come down with the post-christmas blues this year...this year I did the pre-christmas panic. I think it got it all out of my system.
