My oldest brother just makes me so mad.
To cut this short I’ll only cover two years. Last year, my parents started to build a “Granny-Flat” onto the side of the house for my brother to live in, this is a very expensive thing to do as well as time consuming. But it does not bother me, what does however, is how he ignores the sacrifice building it costs my parents.
The state health department sent my brother to Melbourne this year for a conference and he also got a free holiday in Brisbane at the end. Then the government paid a nice contribution to a $4,500 wheelchair for him, and then also helped towards the price for a very large Gym system.
I heard last month, what he was planning for Christmas and why. He said he was getting everyone next to nothing this year as he sick of doing a lot of giving, but getting very little in return. That is total bullshit. I heard this when I got back from a holiday which cost me $6,500 of my own money.
Too make it worse, I spent almost $400 on his presents, and he didn’t thank me. Then on boxing day, he started to tell me how he wants me to give him $800 in April.
So therefore, I hate Christmas.

Yep, me too. Christmas brings out the worst (but sometimes best) in people. I was going to say something constructive and supportive, but the truth is, my family is full of selfish dickheads too. The only respectable one is dying.
So, so I limit my contact with them and don't spend much money on them any more. Meh. What ever. Limiting contact with negative people (including family) has made me a better person. I'm much less grumpy these days.Love2Spurt

I tend to agree with you there, My family are all about what they can get out of each other and i'm glad it's all over for another year. I'm looking forward to what the new year brings.

Hoping the new year brings wonderful things, but I am a little concerned about a few things I will admit.

I find that every year...anyways too busy to actually enjoy it!
Ah, building - love it and hate it at the same time. I was doing that last year. After this house, I vowed never to live in it while it's being built!
