The Boxing Day Test Match is just getting underway.
Australia vs India.

And the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race starts in a couple of hours - Sydney Harbour currently lookds like the Cahilll Expressway at peak hour!

Ahhh, yes, a couple of my pals have sailed in it. Fortunately, they were not in the 1998 version (for those who are unfamiliar with the race, a massive storm struck the fleet that year and six racers perished as numerous vessels were dismasted or wrecked).

The Sydney-Hobart race is one of sailing's great events.

Boxing Day traditions for us are getting the extended family together for leftovers lunch....

Thinking about the sales and whether we should go shopping tomorrow.....

Wondering whether we will have the energy to get working on the renovations that are struggling on......

and yes, watching the race. (Sorry starkkers, the cricket doesn't get a look in, here!)

I'll be at the MCG on Thursday watching the worlds best known sportsman, Sachin Tendulkar. Someones gotta do it!!

I'll watch for you on TV! ;)
You should get to see him batting too, the way the Aussie batting folded up today (thank heavens for Hayden is all I can say!!)

(Does small happy dance at the prospect of a real contest for a change!)

Jeez I can't believe that was 9 years ago. It's terrifying how the years fly by.

Our Boxing Day tradition is a walk on the beach. Since our beach is 30 metres away that's not difficult.

Today we travelled to Broadstairs instead and walked in Viking Bay - and met some local friends also getting away from the relations.
