Ropework photos

This is me joining the PFEOL (Perverts For The Eradication of Leggings).

Nice work, as always. Both with the rope and catching this hawt bunny.

hey! i like leggings. mabye not during a scene, but they are comfy and warm and tight to dance in and they tend to show off your legs very well.

I like leggings too while in civil.

So here, make it PFTELWS (Perverts For The Eradication of Leggings While Scening).

given, but they look nice in RL. and more importantly they are skin tight, stretchy, and warm so they are perfect to dance in.

She wasn't dancing. she was standing there, looking lovely, and doing as she was told. None of these required, or even invited, leggings.

Good enough, though my current displeasure against this particular piece of clothing is potent enough to seek the eradication of the whole concept.

ok, i can back that one

Good. That makes three of us. We are so going to take the world over.

:devil:Mwahahahahahahaha:devil:

Yes, it is a good thing. We can at least get rid of this one nagging problem, and then real change can occur.

All I can do is repeat myself.........

WOW! Lovely ropework!

:rose:

Thank you for sharing with us!

I've been known to get distracted by a nice "culo" many a times ... mmmmmm

Thank you for the compliments. And it is a rather distracting one, I must say.

As for the leggings debate ... I love them, but don't look good in them ... so I am all for eradicating something that I cannot look good wearing... *pout*

They must go. Death to leggings.

you know, they wouldnt have fucked up your photographs if you did it in front of the blue wall

I mentioned that when I posted that pic, sort of. You'll notice in that shot that the legging di fuck up the pic a bit. You see a silhouette of her lower body. Nice, but not as nice as, say, last time, when she just had the panties on.

But, regardless, we're going to be discussing the next party tonight, and one thing I plan to request is that shot sbe done in front of the blue wall. That area is usually the social area, but I'm hoping we can switch it around a bit.

Mmmm, could be. Some time early next month. Maybe. Might be more photos.

There will probably be some photos from the FFF too, some time around mid-month or end of the month. Possibly.

Patience = good.

Last night was good. Got some more photos, though I've not had time to look at them. If there are good ones that compliment what I've posted, I'll put them up.

I also spent time with WeatherGirl. She really enoyed it, and sent some basic photos to her husband. He loved it too, and wants me to continue to work with her, and teach him how to do it eventually. Should be fun.

And "The Hair" showed up, and declared that she wants to be tied at the next party, assuming she can make it. This pleased me because TH is just the coolest person in general. In some cases, it doesn't matter to me if someone will make a great photo or tie or whatever, so long as they have great energy. She's fantastic, and funny, and just all around great to hang out with. Not saying she won't make a good subject, but she will be fun to work with no matter what. And her hair is awesome, thus the nickname.

And, for my fellow geeks out there, TH is a gamer-chick. Rawr.

And, time for a rant. There's a guy that is a regular at this club. We'll call him DA. DA is young, socially dominant, like to talk to everyone he meets about how much of a badass he is, and how much he knows about BDSM, etc. And, most endearing of all, he likes to put hands on any female he talks to more than once. Painful hands. And doesn't take no for an answer until the no becomes emphatic. DA, short for domineering asshole, is exactly the sort of fuckwit that gives people like me a bad rap. Yet when someone like me or AP steps in to get him to cool it, his victim will usually backpedal a bit so as to keep a fight from happening. Later, the victim usually admits that she didn't like it and wished he would leave them alone.

Wow, that pisses me off. If you're ever at a club and a masher is doing that to you, please let the friendly chaps that dislike that sort of behaviour tell him to fuck off.

Nice work Homburg. Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering what you would suggest to a newbie looking to learn. Keep in mind the only knot I know how to tie is the one on my shoes.

What websites are good? Also what rope would be good and in what lengths?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Thanks for the comments.

I've been meaning to answer these questions for a while now. I'm not on a machine that has the bookmarks for the sites I would suggest, so I can't answer it right this second. Later, when I get back on my home machine, I'll post some of the links I like to basic, doable ties.

As to rope, I would personally start with nylon. It's user-friendly, easy to obtain, easy to care for, and cheap. Odds are good that you'll enjoy rope, but why put a lot of money into rope until you know, right?

Go for either 1/4" or 5/16" (6mm and 8mm respectively) solid braid nylon. I strongly suggest buying off the spool at the hardware store. The stuff in the bags is cheaper, but is not as soft and doesn't turn as well. Also the solid braid is not always solid braid in the bags. Sometimes it's braid over solid core, and that stuff sucks. The downside to nylon is that it is slippery and your knots will not hold as well. It also stretches, something to be aware of in suspension and eel play.

When you get more serious, sites like Rainbow Rope, Twisted Monk, Kinky Rope, etc will be able to provide treated hemp, which is pretty much the standard for most riggers. Jute, flax, and MFP (multi-filament poly) are also popular choices.

As to lengths, all sorts of lengths are useful. I can find something to do with most any length of rope. But for your initial purchase, I would suggest what I call my standard rope kit - 2x10ft, 2x20ft, and 1x40ft or possibly 2x40ft. This will leave you enough rope to do all sorts of different things, and enough length to do some solid wrapping, such as you would in corsetting. Those who pay attention to these things will notice that this is similar to the kit that Midori suggests for her Midori Dojos. I was pretty surprised to find that out, but thought it was cool to have my own preference validated =)

At Lowes, I can do one of my rope kits in 1/4" solid braid for about $30. This makes rope a frikken bargain in the BDSM world.

And as aside, the 40ft lengths work well for rope dresses and the like. If you bottom is slender, 30ft might work. If your bottom is large, like a tall, broad man, 50ft might be good. You'll have to play it by ear.

I'll post later with some links to sites.

Here are some useful links to tutorials and such:

http://www.easternrope.com/fashions2/index.php?lang=en&theme=default (Eastern Rope has some excellent tutorials, and gives you a look at some of Rainbow Rope's lovely MFP)

http://www.bdsm-chicago.com/cram/CRAM_tuts.html (Some info on safe practices here. Heed them.)

http://www.japanbondage.de/Howto2/index.htm (There's a LOT going on here. You can also find a good breakdown of Japanese names for ties on this site)

http://www.encordees.com/pas_menu.html (This one is a mix of Eastern and Western style work)

http://www.japanrope.com/tutorial.html (This one does not cover much, but what it covers it handles very well.)

http://monkeyfetish.instantexpert.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=2087 (Again, not a whole lot, but it is good at what it does cover)

http://www.japaneseropeart.com/RopeArt/tutorials.html (Tatu's Rope Dojo, not very extensive yet, but, again, fantastic stuff).

http://twistedmonk.com/video.htm (good videos, and these guys sell some great rope)

http://www.animatedknots.com/indexclimbing.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com (A page on knots, VERY useful)

http://www.realknots.com/knots/index.htm (Another great page on knots. If you can't find good stuff in here, you're blind. :D )

http://www.ropeforpleasure.com/home.html (Good general info here.)

http://ms.ha.md.us/~tammad/over21/essays/ropesel.html (Tammad's page is not working right now, but I hope it comes back up soon. It' snot revolutionary info, but it is very solid stuff, and it is pretty much where I, and a lot of other rope-jockeys, got early info. Tammad is no longer with us, and his page is kept up by others out of respect for his memory. Here's hoping the page's keepers get it back online.)

http://www.nawashibari.com/techniques/index02.html (James Mogul's site. This is another one included largely because it was one of the first sites I hit years ago and gained inspiration from. Frankly, this site and Tammad's site were what got me started. It went from there, and we've been enjoying the journey ever since.)

This is not an exhaustive catalogue of links, nor am I saying these are the best. These are simply some of th eplaces I go for explanation and inspiration. There's tons and tons of material out there if you look for it, and, yes, it is entirely possible to learn this art from the web (to a point). Just make DEAD sure that you learn what dangers are inherent to rope so, well, you don't cause anybody to get dead. Very little in BDSM is more dangerous than badly tied rope. Don't kill your bottoms, kay?

(I have made a few posts through this thread on safety, and you can find more out there. Do the research, learn anatomy, and PLAY SAFE.)

(Egads, I always get nervous as hell with this stuff. It looks doable, and I'm always scared that people will learn it half-assed, wreck their bottoms, and blame whomever put the info out for their own incompetence and lack of care.)

Here's links to some vendors. I've indicated whether or not I've used their products. Many of them will send samples either free or inexpensively.

http://rainbowrope.com/ropefp.html (Well, known for their gorgeous MFP, but also carrying a lot of other great gear)

ETA: I own some of their MFP. It's flat gorgeous. The colours are unbelievable, and I've seen a huge selection of them. Wow, they are pretty. If it looks good on their website, it will look better in person. It has great feel and ties well, though obviously still has the same drawbacks as synth ropes, and is definitely slippery.

http://www.esinem.com/main-home-test.htm (Bruce carries European hemp for a fantastic price. S&H can be a little rough as it comes from the UK, but his prices are fantastic. His work is great too, and he happens to be a very polite and interesting chap over e-mail.)

http://kinkyropes.com/store/index.php?cPath=36 (These folks also offer a variety of really cool accessories. I particularly want to get a set of rope grommets, as they're just cool as hell.)

ETA: I own some flax from here. Love it. Great stuff, and smells like a clean horse barn. Horse people will know this smell.

http://twistedmonk.com/products.htm (Great stuff. Nothing more needs to be said. Okay, well, some of their colours are fantastic. That needed to be said.)

ETA: I own some hemp from Monk too. Wow, dead honest when I say that Monk's hemp is the finest stuff out there. Yeah, you hear it, and it sounds like hype, but it really isn't Fantastic stuff, and organic and environmentally friendly. Processed with no animal products either. Good stuff!

NOTE: The people from Rainbow Ropes, Kinky Ropes, and Twisted Monk are great folks. If you see their booths at an event, stop by. Good folk.

Alright, I edited the first post to include links to various posts within the thread that are useful and informative, as well as some of th emore popular pic posts. Hopefully people visiting the thread for the first time will have an easier time finding their way around.

I also wanted to take some time to thank everyone that has been reading this thread and commenting. While I don't think of the thread while I'm tying, I do keep photos in mind when planning a given tie. So you all enhance what I do by adding a little bit of extra challenge. I just wish I could have you lot as a live audience (and many of you as guest star rope bunnies).

Thanks again, everyone. I look forward to many more posts and ties being commented on here.
