We are having a collection at work for some local refuges so today I went and bought some gifts for the boxes. It was so good to do. I not only got to do all the christmassy things like buying gifts and stuff but it made me feel quite humble. I realise that my problems are no where as a bad as some peoples.

Lol yeah.

I can recommend the shifting focus bit....did me the world of good.

Why don't you look at doing something similar....it not too late and refuges cry out for things at any time of the year. The list they gave us was really humbling...they wanted staples like baked beans. Hell, my xmas may be difficult but I won't be eating baked beans....

I need to do more investigation into this. In the past, when I've looked into donating food or clothes, I have often been told that money is preferred. But I really don't have a lot of extra dough to spare. I'll look again though. Especially this year - it should be very quiet for me.

I've also been meaning to try and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Ok, I'm committing in the blurt thread - I'm going to do it.

ETA: well, gee, that was easy! I have some extra canned food too. Easy peasy.

Yeah, K hates plumbing, too. It's one of the reasons he only did it proffessionally for 2 1/2 years. Now he only does it for family, cause he doesn't have a license anymore and if he does it for anyone else he can get fined.

Yup, there's a reason why plumbers make good money, and all you have to do to figure out why is try doing some plumbing yourself. Ugh.

What I hate is when K has to do plumbing. If their's plumbing problems at our house, I take the kids elsewhere. You know, so they don't have to deal with him screaming cuss words.

What I can tell you is that anyone who thinks that truckers and sailors have dirty mouths have never listened to a plumber doing their own plumbing. They watch their language when on the job,but what am I gonna do? Fire him? He's working for free!

LOL, yeah, I've noticed that I am a bit less *ahem* restrained on any task where I'm not getting paid.
 
Well, I am standing in a tattoo/piercing place waiting for the piercer to show up. I had come in here this morning to have the ring tightened up a bit, and the owner was like "nooooo that ring is way too small, come back at 3:30 and see our piercer." The reason I had done it myself was because I can't afford to have a professional do it, but I think that's what I'll end up doing. When she gets here she will probably lecture me, heh. I will make sure to give her a tip.

Now I have one unused ring, one unused needle, etc. Heh.

Irrelevant, as it does not address the goofy unfunny-ness (do not smile during my Top routine - it's a word!) of the show Tool Time. Unfunnyness is an unforgiveable sin.
