saving you tube videos

Well, youtube doesn't have a save feature. They kind of want people to come to the site and watch stuff.

But with the right tools, you can capture what goes on in that specific square on your screen and save that. I've seen it done. Don't know what program was used though.

If you're running firefox then get the pluggin Download Helper 2.5.3

Does a wonderful job on so many so called locked videos

Google 'Orbit downloader'

It's freeware, of course. I never use anything else.
It will download almost any flash video.

PM me if you need a tutorial.

Ok, now that I've downloaded it, how do I save the youtube clip?

It free but the instructions will cost ya. ;):D

Start the youtube video playing. Up on the tool bar there will be a thing like two cherries with a down arrow next to them. Click on the arrow and a menu appears. Select the clip and tell it where to download it to. By the time the video ends it'll be downloaded.

I never saw any cherries but I did get a little orbit icon every time I opened a Youtube and it worked well. Unfortunately I had to unistall it because it locked up my IE every time I tried to open a PDF doc (which I have to do scores of times a day for work).
