Well...it *can* hurt if you don't do it properly, or you're not ready - but don't be deterred. As several people have said, you need to take it very slowly and carefully, and use loads of lubricant. And if it doesn't feel right at any stage, call a halt.

I didn't give the position a whole lot of thought ahead of time... kind of assumed it would be from behind, but what you said makes perfect sense...
