Anyone from the UK?

As a distant descendant of the Bard (through one of his cousins), I thought I'd help out with the words of the song and a pointer to the biggest mistake that people make when they sing it.

Firstly: do NOT join hands yet.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to min'?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and days o' lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pul'd the gowans fine;
but we've wandered mony a weary foot,
sin' auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl't i' the burn,
frae mornin' sun till dine;
but seas between us braid hae roar'd,
sin' auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint stowp,
and surely I'll be mine;
and we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

NOW cross and join hands.

And here's a hand, my trusty fiere,
and gie's a hand of thine;
and we'll tak a right guid willie-waught,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Happy New Year to you all.

peaceful, I had started watching my box set of 007, a new year tradition, how was yours? Are you home safe now?
How far did you get through the box set?

A fairly quiet evening of food and drinks with my family. Watched the fireworks at midnight and in bed not long after.
