Lit stories are full of guys sniffing women's panties, stockings or shoes.

But you never read a story where a girl wants to sniff a guy's used jockstrap, socks or shoes.

Why is that?

Do you think art doesn't imitate life in this regard?

Or is that the "why" you're after, here?

The olfactory attraction factor is tied to the anatomical differences between the sexes.

From personal experience, there have been some women who's scent in that area was horrendous. I never sniffed their panties, but if I had, they would have been quickly tossed into an incinerator. I'm sure that they were disappointed in my unwillingness to attempt cunnilingus, but they would have been more disappointed in the contents of my stomach appearing, which was a certainty had I tried to overcome the smell.

Because, a woman's used panties smell like vaginal secretions, whereas a guy's used undies probably just smell like stale sweat and farts. Much better to just get the guy to work up a sweat and smell him directly.
Some of us would much rather get a woman worked up and smell her secretions directly than sniff panties.

Well, mentions certainly exist, perhaps just not as commonly.

From a story I'm reviewing The Middle of Nowhere, by @OldDog_NewTricks (with permission)

She hung up the phone and walked over to Tyler's truck. The truck she wanted to ride in, make out in, whatever in. She opened the door and climbed in the passenger side. She slid towards the center of the bench seat as if Tyler were driving and imagined heading into the next town over and the drive-in theater. Her mind began to wander, wondering where a night like that might lead. She could almost smell Tyler right there with her. She opened her eyes and realized why. On the floor lay Tyler's sweaty denim shirt and hat. With the windows up and the early summer heat, the whole truck smelled like Tyler. She reached down and grabbed them. She put his hat on her head and raised the shirt to her face and drew his scent in deeply.
