I’m so old I remember…

That's next... when discipline all of a sudden became abuse

And I am in no way promoting or excusing any kind of abuse...but discipline is a must
100%, I don't condone the type of abuse some teachers enjoyed doing to pupils. I was caned at school a lot. (But then I was naughty)

I always thought that the fear worked on a lot of kids.

However now its the teachers who are scared. A girl who was in my sons class threatened to tell her parents that the teacher "touched" her, if she wasn't given a good school report. She was 11 at the time.

But yes soapbox away.

I was in my thirties and was taking my grandma grocery shopping. A mother had her kids, in the 3-6 range, running around like kids do at that age. The mother swatted one for something, and my grandma positivity growled, saying "she shouldn't hit those kids". Didn't think much about it, but some time later, i described the incident to my dad, her som. He just laughed. He told me that "nice old woman" beat the crap out of him and his brother for doing stuff like that.

I remember using $0.25 to buy a cold bottled Coke (made with real sugar) and a full size Snickers bar... 15 for the coke, 10 for the candy bar.
The store owner was kind enough to round down the penny on sales tax, which was 3 cents on the dollar.
