$150 Billion dollars for not turning over their user details and refusing to allow the EU to curate content. Not surprisingly two events came of this. First Musk basically said, "go fuck yourself" and secondly sign-ups on X have skyrocketed. X is no the largest social platform in the EU.
But WAIT, there's more. Musk has initiated a ground swell to dismantle the EU altogether. Granted, it's a populist movement but it has the 'boys in Brussels' terrified. Along with that the new US "National Security Strategy" has identified Europe as in the process of committing cultural suicide and is pointedly decoupling from Europe. One of the specific items in the Strategy document is the mention of Europe turning away from the notion of "Freedom of Speech" thus rendering them incompatible with any long term US goals or support.
Now the question is, "How is Europe going to react to all of the above?"
