I absolutely LOVE 
this thread. There used to be a website called Pixdaus which was just for posting photographs. It closed several years ago..and I've been looking for a a new place ever since. Thank you sooo very much Nightbird for starting this

I have always been fascinated with dragon and damsel flies and the one below I skirmished with for right around two hours. I was wading a little creek, where I fish, and there were 10's of thousands of dragon and damsel flies all over the place and this one was huge. From the tip of its nose to the end of its tail was about 3". He seemed about as curious about me as I was of him as he was following me all over the place, but never landed where I could get a clear shot. I had probably 50 images of him taking off, or just pictures of his butt, as he was flying out of frame, but patience paid off.

I love the mirror reflection and it evokes so much peace. This is a wonderful shot.
