Sometimes it does equal. But even outside of that, computer science has like half a dozen different notions of ‘nothing’.And then there's the whole thing about "0" versus "null" in some programming languages. null≠0.
The number zero; a null pointer; an empty collection; the bottom type (cue BDSM puns); an absent value; and probably a few others. It’s really much ado about nothing, sometimes.
