The Isolated Politics Blurt Thread I: A New Beginning

Anyone else notice how this president speaks about America and its citizens as if they are separate entities from himself? Like HE didn’t EO visas into a pay for play scheme. Like HE had no idea it was HIS policies that sent ICE agents to Georgia.

Sign in the Oval Office: “The Buck doesn’t stop here. I’ve never heard of Buck. I don’t know him.”

". . . It took just 71 days for Donald Trump to wreck the American economy, mortally wound NATO, and destroy the American-led world order.

He did this with the enthusiastic support of the entire Republican party and conservative movement.

He did it with the support of a plurality of American voters.

He did not hide his intentions. He campaigned on them. He made them the central thrust of his election. He told Americans that he would betray our allies and give up our leadership position in the world.

There are only three possible explanations as to why Americans voted for this man:

they wanted what he promised;
they didn’t believe what he promised; or
they didn’t understand what he promised. . . ."

West Virginia invited 27 Virginia counties to become part of West Virginia. 😆 Desperate attempt by West Virginia to get off the bottom of every state ranking.

America dropping out of world leadership/bullying/exploitation is inevitable and necessary. The options are managed withdrawal and jumping on all the landmines on our way out.

NATO won't have a reason to exist left when Europe reverts to its natural state of constant petty wars, and nobody outside Europe wants any part of that mess.

Hey, the dystopian loon is back!

When it comes to seizing momentum, the democrats can find a way to let an opportunity slip away, but I’m going to put this out there anyway…
If the House rule still stands that anyone can call a vote for a new speaker - this may be the chance to oust Johnson with key House Republicans feeling more than a bit slighted by trump.

Interesting how the "constant petty wars" stopped after NATO was set up! Maybe if Ukraine had been part of NATO we wouldn't have the problem with Putin's invasion either.

...after a bigger war with more devastation, and at American expense of enforcing/buying peace.

If Ukraine had been a member of NATO, then Vladimir Putin would have been MUCH less eager to invade. There wouldn't have been any "devastation."

Putin is probably wishing Ukraine HAD been a NATO member. If it had, and Putin had refrained from invading, Russia wouldn't have suffered over a million casualties and rising (killed and wounded) and their economy would have been in far better shape.
