President Donald Trump issued a proclamation on Nov. 7 announcing “Anti-Communism Week,” which will commemorate the approximately 100 million victims who have lost their lives to communist political systems.

“This week, our Nation observes Anti-Communism Week, a solemn remembrance of the devastation caused by one of history’s most destructive ideologies,” the proclamation, issued on the National Day for the Victims of Communism, reads.

The order highlights the “devastation” of communist rule in countries around the world since its inception in Russia in 1917 by Vladimir Lenin following the Bolshevik Revolution. The collectivist ideology stems from “The Communist Manifesto,” written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in 1848.

Common principles of communist rule include the destruction of family structures, the abolition of traditional societal morals, and the outlawing of religions and spiritual liberty.

My parents been born in East Germany. A lot of things were not nice or wrong , like the Stasi, Family and traditional morals were welcome. Religion or the churches were suspicious but not outlawed. The protests in September and October 1989 that started the end of communism in Europe, were not protests because this was against the law, They were 'Fredoom Prayer" . Every Monday all east Germans were going to church. We ended communism just protesting. Whitout using narcos to ship weapons the east German rebels.

I've tried explaining to him multiple times what the definition of "Communism" is but of course, he isn't intellectually gifted enough to understand.

This is why this forum is so frustrating. Just the drooling, infantile levels of ignorance spewed on here by the various iterations of the Harpy/Rebel5/Icanhelp/Danokeefie guy, and the complete and utter inability to comprehend even the simplest explanations.

For the record, I oppose communism in all it's forms, as it is completely against all that is free and American. But at least I understand what communism IS. These seventh-grade dropouts do not, and never will. They can't seem to understand that there is NO impending threat of communism in America. Ironically these same people have no problem with totalitarian third-reich styled government, which is if anything, even worse.

What matters is that there was never a remote possibility of a Communist dictatorship in the United States. The danger was of a nuclear war that would have ended civilization.
