Anti-woke Deplorables turn Sydney Sweeney into box-office poison

This one is sofaking stupid that I made him use the homophobic slurs that he was railing others about đŸ«ąđŸ˜‚

He exhibits that sort of blatant hypocrisy all the time.

He thinks it's a feature vs a bug - and then wonders why he can't even get other Deplorables to support him. Nothing more than an obsessed clown in everyone's eyes. 😉

about how they attack her because of the idelology

kinda reminds me of ayrissa griffin and anna navarro from the view because they are both republicans on a show with 3 left wingers and 1 indie

and there has been times where ayrissa and or anna have been somewhat on screen attacked mostly by sunny and joy about some political stuff

So, no political ideology revealed.

Kthx. :)

“American Eagle” and Sydney DID consciously pander to MAGA with that “good jeans / genes” ad

It looks like it did NOT pay off

sad

😑

We. Told. Them. So.

you are the most effective troll on Lit...You don't stand for anything.

You're the homophobe who pretends he's against homophobia.
You're the ageist who pretends he's against ageism.
You're the racist who pretends he's against racism.
You're the Deplorable who pretends he isn't one.
You're the guy who makes fun of others for having cancer, but pretends he had it himself.
You're the troll who pretends he's not a troll.
You're one to talk.

:)

That's a great example of how 25 years of trolling a forum can be effectively utilized. Lol. :)

The deleterious effects to a rational healthy disposition which TDS sufferers are deprived of, are on full display by this thread. Apparently, hatred of Trump compels one to celebrate the misfortunes of anyone who dares to express even a modicum of approval of our current sitting President. The crime Sidney Sweeny seems to be guilty of is the fact that unlike the vast majority of Hollywood actors she is a registered Republican. It was obviously grating on the nerves of TDS sufferers that her American Eagles ads were so successful. The fact that her latest movie is not so successful was a much-needed balm, but it is probably not enough to soothe the soul.

Yeah, we get it.
You perceive “good news” about trump as acceptable and can be repeated over and over - criticisms? Well that’s TDS. 🙄

TDS sufferers do not see nor discern any good news about Trump. Anything and everything he says or does are spun negatively or are completely ignored. And of course, anyone supporting Trump or are connected to him are automatically vilified. Two Hollywood actresses made the mistake of publicly expressing empathy towards Erica Kirk and her family as to the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk. They immediately faced
vitriolic backlash on social media for daring to articulate what would be considered essentially a normal human sentiment. One of them, Jamie Lee Curtis, to her discredit walked her comments back claiming her words were mistranslated and assured everyone that she opposed the acknowledged hateful Charlie Kirk.

How about the assassination attempt on Trump’s life at Butler, PA last year? An indifferent observer would marvel at Trump’s courageous and defiant reaction as opposed to exhibiting a cowardly, frightened demeanor. On this forum a poster, (BrightShinyGirl) opined that the assassination attempt was bogus, staged to make Trump look good. It probably escaped her notice that she had inadvertently conceded that Trump’s behavior was otherwise brave and heroic.

Christopher Wray, the FBI director at the time, although having been appointed by Trump to the position, seems to have had a mild affliction of TDS. During the subsequent Congressional hearing on the assassination attempt, he speculated without offering any evidence for his assertion that Trump may not have been struck by a bullet but instead may have been struck by a fragment of the teleprompter to which Trump had turned his head. Such speculation fueled conspiratorial theories by Trump haters articulated inter alia by say Joy Reid, a former pundit on the formerly MSNBC but presently MSNOW, to question the lack of an official doctor’s medical report. As if that mattered, but at least such speculation had the benefit for Trump haters of ignoring an admirable character trait that Trump had without a doubt displayed on the occasion.

Now about this picayune matter that the author of this thread finds so relevant in evaluating the sensibilities of Trump supporters. It begs the question why did we on the right like Sweeney’s American Eagle ads? Admittedly the icing on the cake is the fact she is reputed to be a registered Republican; which, mind you, she has not publicly acknowledged. I imagine if she had proclaimed herself to be a Democrat like a majority of Hollywood actors, we on the right would still have enjoyed the ads because it pokes fun at political correctness. And of course in such eventuality this thread would not exist.

Now this movie in question is a bio about the life of Christy Martin, a successful female professional boxer who married her coach when she was 22 and he was 47. She suffered continuous physical and mental abuse throughout her marriage culminating with her husband’s attempt at murdering her after she had declared she wanted a divorce so she could switch to a lesbian relationship. He stabbed her several times and even shot her at least once in her torso. Miraculously she survived and her husband died in prison last year during his subsequent lengthy prison sentence. Ms Martin since has been in a same sex marriage with one of her boxing opponents.

The plot surely is compelling enough to warrant significant audience appeal. In fact this movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September to rave reviews and Sidney Sweeney’s performance was critically applauded. So why the poor box office showing? Well, we are back to the crime that Sidney Sweeney obviously is guilty of; i.e. she is presumably a registered Republican and may have actually voted for Trump. Oh horrors! The explanation for the ultimate disdain for Sweeney’s role in the movie was brutally articulated by a Ruby Rose, an undistinguished Australian actress who is a lesbian who has opined that Sidney Sweeney ruined the movie because she was not one of “us”, i.e. Sidney is not a lesbian. I submit to you Trump haters that if you avoid truly exceptional artists who are not of the same political ideology or stripe as yourself, you are depriving yourself of enjoyment of their art. I believe the ultimate extreme example is the case in classical music of Richard Wagner. By all accounts Wagner was a deplorable human being. He was a virulent anti-Semite. He did not pay back monies he had borrowed. He impregnated his married mistress three times before he finally agreed to marry her after a divorce. Incidentally, the cuckold husband was not too incensed as he recognized the artistic genius of Wagner, so he understood his wife’s submission.
I suggest that even if you have no affinity for classical music I‘m certain that for example you have heard and are familiar with his ‘Ride of the Valkyries’ which has been highlighted in TV commercials as well as incidental music in various movies and in TV shows.

The point I’m making of course is that no matter how much you hate Trump you surely should not vilify those who support him. They actually have a realistic rationale for admiring him.

Yeah. I didn’t read any of this.
The fictional writer section is thataway ——->

ever since the announcement of sydneys political ideology most of the left have lost there minds and in a way turned there back on her and why because shes a republican

which brings me to say this is one of the reasons at least in my opinion why since 2020 or at least since 2016 alot of the republican celebs are not in a whole lot of resent movies and tv shows

althought the only republican style channels are hallmark channel and great american family

If you read your own link, you know Rose's objection was not only that Sweeney isn't a lesbian, it's that she's aligned with a political movement that hates GLBT people, or at least doesn't respect their rights. I imagine to you they're one and the same, but it just ain't so.

Come back when you can point to a "realistic rationale" other than that he validates their bigotry.
