Democrat Shutdown might be ending tonight?

As much as 3% GDP lost. Millions of Americans put in financial distress and severely inconvenienced for NO FUCKING REASON AT ALL!!!!!!

The Dementedcrap party, the party of illegals and criminals.
...and yet, you blame the Democrats; proof that the actual point is passing right completely over your head, and you are truely living in some weird parallel alternate reality. Whatever you say.

For those of us living in the REAL world, it is disgusting to me that Trump gets to go on taxpayer-funded vacations, taxpayer funded renovations on the White house, and give huge tax cuts to billionaires, while letting millions go hungry. That's the part of it that is the ugly reality.

Who do you blame for the economy being garbage? Illegals? Trump? DOGE?

NOTHING passed over my head.

You have no idea what you're talking about. You've bought into the narrative and there's no hope for you.

All you do is be a contrarian dick with no substance. Grow a pair and back your shit up or fuck off, you old dumbass.

I watch the news. I read the newspaper. I can actually READ.
The Republicans, not the Democrats, are 1000% at fault for the government shut down. Full stop. You can live in your own harpy fairyland if you wish.
They inform you of NOTHING.

If the Repubs are responsible then why are the dementedcraps caving without gaining ANYTHING? And why are the dementedcraps so mad at the dementedcraps for caving?

When reality doesn't match your narrative you may want to reevaluate the validity of what you believe.

Dems didn't want MAGA children to starve.

You're welcome, shit for brains.

Read the room. Your party caved.
Sure, of course you see it that way. How did it go the last shut downs? Plus, not my party but thanks. I just seem partisan since your side is complete shit. Nothing there to line up with since the founding principles are gone. Now it’s all hatred, spite, and lies, (going to say that’s what it used to be too, more jello for you!)

That right there PROVES that you don't really live in the real world and instead live inside the biased media talking points.

It's no secret that the renovations are being PRIVATELY FUNDED. Yet here you are saying that it's the taxpayers who are on the hook for the costs.

It's freaking unreal how much you delude yourself every dam day.

🙄

ineedhelp1 is a seriously stupid fuckwit (a typical MAGAt).

I notice ineedhelp1 conveniently avoided responding to my earlier post that detailed the positives of the ACA.

I wonder why???

🤔

We. Know. Why.

We. Told. Them. So.

Then there's this AI overview:

Fraud and abuse in Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies are significant issues, largely driven by unscrupulous brokers manipulating enrollment data to maximize commissions and enrollees misrepresenting their income to receive higher subsidies. Recent estimates suggest billions of dollars are lost to improper payments and fraudulent schemes.

Common Types of Fraud and Abuse
  • Misstating Income: Both brokers and enrollees have incentives to misreport income. Brokers might inflate an applicant's income to meet the minimum eligibility for subsidies (100% of the federal poverty level), while some individuals might misstate their income to receive higher premium tax credits than they are entitled to.
  • Unauthorized Enrollments and Plan Switching: A rampant form of abuse involves brokers enrolling individuals in plans or switching their existing plans without their consent or knowledge (often after obtaining personal information through misleading advertisements).
  • Targeting Vulnerable Populations: Unscrupulous brokers have targeted individuals experiencing homelessness, unemployment, and mental health issues, sometimes bribing them to sign up for plans using manipulated information to maximize subsidies.
  • "Zero-Claim" Enrollees: A high number of enrollees who do not file any medical claims are often "phantoms" (unaware they are enrolled or already covered by another plan like Medicaid or employer coverage). This points to enrollment-at-any-cost strategies that benefit insurers and brokers through government payments, not actual patient care.
    • Deceptive Marketing: False advertisements on platforms like Facebook and YouTube promising cash benefits or government-funded gift cards are used to gather personal information from potential enrollees.
    • Automatic Re-enrollment: Aggressive automatic re-enrollment procedures can perpetuate improper enrollments year after year, especially for those in fully subsidized plans who may not even know they are enrolled.

Recent Cases and Statistics
  • The Department of Justice (DOJ) has brought charges against individuals involved in large-scale fraud schemes, including one in South Florida that allegedly claimed nearly $162 million in ACA subsidies through deceptive practices.
  • The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) received over 200,000 complaints from people enrolled or switched to plans without their permission in 2024.
  • A March 2025 CBO analysis, cited by some Republican lawmakers, estimated that 2.3 million individuals improperly claimed premium tax credits by misstating their income in 2025, a significant increase from prior years.

So there's fraud in the system and the DoJ is prosecuting when it finds fraud.

Is that the ACA causing the fraud? If so, are you suggesting there wasn't fraud prior to the ACA?

Schumer’s days are numbered.

WSJ:

Angry progressive voters and party activists have focused their fury on the 74-year-old Schumer in the aftermath of what they see as a collapse by Senate Democrats.

Fraud is an issue and difficult to find and prosecute. Waste and abuse can be addressed but the will to make changes has to be there. Politicians need to admit to themselves that there's a better way to conduct business.

Competition is all but eliminated in ACA. Choice for more equitable policies that cater to individual needs is limited. In 2010 had the government dealt with pre-existing conditions the need for government overreach would not have been required. People are channeled into huge insurance companies eliminating competition and choice playing the "WERE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN".

The bigger the government the more waste, fraud and abuse exist. IMHO

The Republicans and a couple of democrats who saw the writing on the wall voted to OPEN the Gov 15 times.

Now you say you watch and read the “news”…you even highlighted you know how to read. You must have missed those votes…or did your “news” of choice not tell you about them?

Notice this doesn’t include that organ of the radicalized democrat party PBS…one can only imagine it’d be north of 95% had they been included.

Exactly. Further coverage was mandated for bullshit crap like Trannycare.

Trump has laid out the core philosophy of what he envisions replacing Oscumacare with and no one is paying attention. BIG MISTAKE. His plan puts the people first, not the insurance companies.

As a side note more than a few of those large insurers are going to regret all those large donations to the dementedcrap party.
