I've been upset lately because all my stories seemed to be in a weird Pending Holding Pattern. 5 stories just waiting to be Approved and Published:

10/26 in Group Sex
10/27 in Group Sex
10/27 in Group Sex
10/21 in Transgender
10/26 in Sci Fi & Fantasy

All the dates above were RESUBMITTED except the Transgender one, which was new. The last one has been Pending well over 2.5 months resubmitted a few times.

I got into a bit of a funk and stopped writing, and then Friday I got inspired and wrote a new story .. new category for me: BDSM. I submitted that one on Saturday and it was Approved/Published this morning. I'm really happy about it .. already 1 really nice comment and a few new followers.

But ... WTF is going on? Why was that story Approved almost immediately, and the other 5 still sit there in limbo? I'm definitely in a good mood about the new story, but still very confused about the others.

After 2 months in pending purgatory (did the delete, submit new, note thingy), I deleted my non erotic story. I have come to the conclusion that somewhere in literotica's CMS there is a bug and random submissions go into pending purgatory never to see human eyes. Because this bug can't be replicated consistently (some/most work gets posted), I don't believe it will ever be addressed. YMMV

This isn’t unusual

Before I stopped swinging my bat at publishing here I had a record of 2 from 5

Purgatory, Published, Purgatory, Purgatory, Published

1 of your story’s got lucky the others didn’t

Nobody knows what’s going on except for those in the know and they have seemingly lost what quiet voices they had

When I had two stories in purgatory, I wrote a third and mentioned the first two in the author's notes. The third went up within a couple of days with no change to the others. I ended up resubmitting them both and they did go up pretty much straight away. I also mentioned they had been pending for over 15 days, which seems to be the official cut off point for it going on too long. Might be worth mentioning the 15 days thing in author's notes, in case they do a sweep for that in the same way they do for contest submissions. Prob not, but worth a try

If the story is listed as pending for your account, you don't need to delete it. You can resubmit it as is, but as mentioned, it will go back to the end of the line. I do wonder how many stories are on that line, and if they are truly posted in the order in which they were received. It seems obvious that they are not. Put a note about it in the box for comments to the moderator, which is about all you can do to reach them.

IM's from here go through, but they don't always answer them.

All 5 of my pending stories were just rejected with a message that strongly suggests that I used some sort of AI tool.

I did not.

Not sure what to say beyond that .. 9 stories published and now suddenly 5 rejected for using AI.

This is not an accusation or even an evidence-backed theory, just throwing this out there: is it possible things are being rejected for AI because of volume, not content? As in, if you're submitting 9-10 stories in quick succession, maybe something in their software is flagging that as suspicious?

They are all pretty short .. and 1 was approved this morning. So I'm not sure how that fits in.

The real problem is .. I have no idea what to change. I can link to one of them in a DM and maybe someone can tell me what's going on.

I can confirm it wasn't. All 169k words of my story were submitted as 28 parts within the course of 1 week. All were approved and released without issue.

Were there any tools you used to edit or proof them?

I have one pending in Taboo/Incest since 10th Oct, and one in mature since 02nd Nov.

On SOL they get published in few hours, that too without any hassle.

I'm rereading these stories and I have no idea what to do. What do I change?

I am going to change nothing (unless on reread I see some sort of error). I am going to resubmit the stories with a "Note To Admin" that explains that the stories were written 100% by me and no tool altered anything that I wrote. I'm not sure what do to beyond that.

To be honest, I'm very upset right now. I didn't expect this.

That seems like the right move to me. Whether or not it will work is another matter, but seems like a good next step.

Don't waste your energy in cross checking stuff. The only thing you need to be sure of is the story is actually submitted. For the rest, unless you don't get rejection, there is nothing else to do for you.

As for wait, you can't help it. You changing something or resbumitting the story will only push you lower in the pipeline. It not worth letting your emotions run high over something like this. If you are in real hurry to get your work published, explore other options.
