Female beta reader wanted

Hi,
I would be happy to find a female beta reader for the story that I have just drafted.
Narrator is a almost 50 year old woman, feeling the negative impact of age on her body. She uses a photosession to test her charms on the photographer. This being successful, it ends with intense sex. In fact, this is the female perspective of my story 'Photo Session' published her a few weeks ago (https://literotica.com/s/photo-session-6).

My problem: I am a male author and I do not know, if her mindset, the fluctuations of her mood, emotions, sensations, are credible as I describe it. And if my story would be appealing for female readers. You know, men have their difficulties to talk about emotions. I tried my best but I might have been carried away.

So I am looking for comments preferrably from female authors and/or editors on these items.

Story details: About 13.000 words, fiction, exhibitionism, voyeurism, role play, masturbation, straight sex, anal sex, analingus.

You don't need a female perspective. Just write her as a person. People have been writing other genders for centuries - it's really not something to get worked up about.

You probably have more in common with your character than you do with a Chilean mineworker, or Croatian shepherd, or an 80-year-old Japanese man who's lived all his life in Tokyo. Look for the similarities, and they always begin with us all being people.

Hmm, if I would write about the everyday life of people, you would definitely be right. But in my story, told by a woman narrator, she reflects on her sensation arising from body parts, that I do not have. Same with emotions that arise from those feelings and about her feelings fearing the loss of her beauty due to her age and in the end being happy that her man still finds her very attractive. Which again are things I am not very familiar with.
I put my ideas of how I think these things happen into my story, just now I want to know, if I did a good job of it.

There is enough erotica on this site written by females that you should be able to compare and contrast and do a credible job of describing a 'recognizably female' mindset without additional assistance. The females on this forum are aware of this, and since you are an unknown quantity, are understandably suspicious about what you're actually looking for. There is a persistent trend of male 'authors' seeking specifically female beta readers, enough of which have proven to be discourteous and maladjusted that you have, perhaps inadvertently, placed yourself into very dubious company by appearing and seeking the same services. Until or unless you can prove otherwise, some of the most vocal forum-goers are likely to assume that you're trawling rather than scrawling.

Yeah, pretty much this... more than one request for a "female beta reader/writing partner" has turned out to be more of a sneaky attempt at finding or grooming a roleplaying or sexting partner.

Not to say that you are one of those guys, I have no reason to think your intentions are less than honorable! But it's better to build up a positive reputation and have some collegial interactions with writers of all genders, and see if a healthy collaboration develops naturally.

I've done mutual beta readings and several collaborations with a couple of wonderful guys here, @SinclairGroupLLP and @Actingup, but both relationships started from a place of mutual professional admiration and respect 🥰

I've written most of my stories from a woman's POV, usually 1st person. Multiple have done very well. I have yet to receive a single complaint that they are unrealistic. Mine are composites of women I know IRL, based on real life, extrapolated using imagination and logic for emotional realism. Not my sex scenes, most of those lean towards absurdity, intentionally.

Peace

I get your point that female authors have to protect themselves against harassment. I was not aware of it, that this would be needed on LE as well.

Hmm. How to do that? I just started writing erotic stories and currently I have three stories published here on LE, all with 4.5+ ratings. Unfortunately I did not yet find how to attach the links to my signature here. Maybe this gives some sufficient proof, that I am not just on the prowl for sexting partners and other similar pastimes. Here are the links:

That is just how I did it, but I just wanted to have some professional advice, If I did a good job.

No harm indended.

For everyone involved in this thread. Is there not a forum to post short sections of a story for a writer to ask advice? Can't remember, for the OP to use and ask advice on certain sections?

That's a good start for sure, so people can see your writing style and subject areas! I would also say, participate in the Authors Hangout forum a bit, contribute to discussion topics that interest you. Read other authors (not just women!) and give them feedback and comments.

Yeah! You're allowed to post snippets of unpublished stories in the Story Feedback forum, but the rule is that a snippet shouldn't be more than 100 words. But for small passages you can ask for opinions on things like tone, pacing, realism, etc.

Thank you. Good advice.

If you don't feel confident writing a story, don't write it.

That said, "write what you know" is a broad concept. Maybe you aren't a woman, but men have feelings too. And believe it or not, we're all people. Imagine how you'd feel, or how any other human would feel. What are your doubts, your fears? Draw on those, and apply them to the character you're writing.

Physical sensations? Again, what do you feel? What have your partners felt in similar situations, how have they reacted, what did they like or dislike?

Here's a secret: we're all human, we're all similar and we're all different. Write a human, and nobody's going to tell you you're wrong or you're right.
