Jumping into the fire ... Should the entire Non-Con category be eliminated?

Yeah, that disconnect from reality is annoying. I had to rewrite one of my stories because I needed a year gap and it takes special circumstances to have an eighteen-year-old junior in high school.
And there are more than a few of the "open minded, sex positive, tolerant" types here who will scream pedophile if you even mention writing a story where a 17 year-old has sex.

While plenty of other sites exist without being sued into oblivion, I'm willing to grant them some leniency there given the potential for a shit-storm regarding minors, whether depictions of them are unrealistic or not.

While you could argue that underage sex and rape are both illegal and immoral, the simple fact is that I can understand the paranoia. Sure, you can argue that there's a big difference between two consenting 17 year olds and rape of a 5 year old, but where exactly do you draw the line in the sand between them? So, you play it safe.

To be clear, I'm not equating the two scenarios above.

What if you kidnap him first, hold him against his will, and then release him before he returns as a cuckold? That's cool, right?
No. Nope. It's all part of that "depriving him of his sexual agency" thing.

"Cuckold" is something the wife does TO him, and he's supposed to feel humiliated by it. If he enjoys it, then he's a "wimp" and that's a different issue unrelated to being just a cuckold.

To misquote the esteemed Dr. Frankenfurter, "A line had to be drawn, and they drew one!"

If I were queen of the world, it would be 16, but I'm not so I'll deal with it as it is. If it WERE 16, then we'd have people complaining that they lost their virginity at 15 and the age of consent in New Mexico is 14 so what's the big deal...

Hmm, you seem to have a very strong grasp on the subtleties of "cuckold" vs "wimp"...

I've had that same issue with my "Lifestyle..." couple, because the scenario was they hooked up in high school with her ordering him to take her to the Prom.

And in "Neverland..." she grew up with drug addict parents and no homelife, but I had to put her back a few years in school, so she'd be 18 in senior high to begin her wild sexual escapades. No one would believe she was a virgin going wild as soon as she was in college.

So, she grew up with parents who weren't the best of role models, used so many drugs before she was born, she was somewhat dim, and became a pass-around girl by college. I think I met her.

She didn't use drugs, seeing what it did to her parents. She was an alcoholic who recovered and changed from that wildlife while in college.

That's the story, about not wanting her husband of 20 years to find out about her past.

EDIT: I wrote it that way so she wasn't cheating on her husband. But to see how the "monogamy-only" types would take it of a formerly promiscuous woman becoming a faithful wife.

My stories vary in themes to explore those reader reactions.

It's a lot of fun to point out to those folks that the most common age of consent in the US is 16.

I've been accused of a lot, simply for knowing that age of consent and age of majority are two different things.

All three of the previous generations of women before me, in my family, were married by the age of 16, with parental encouragement and society's approval.
My mother married my father when she was 14 and he was 19, and she had my oldest sister a year later.

Times and attitudes have changed drastically, but that reality still exists.

I'm not advocating for kiddie porn or underage sex stories, I wouldn't read them, but neither am I appalled or offended by knowing that teenagers have sex.

I hesitate to make an analogy, I know of a forum where they're banned, but I think the rules around underage content are a great analogy for the rules around R/NC content.

Everyone knows that teens in real life have sex. Sometimes with people their own age, sometimes with people older or younger. I think the vast majority of people agree that sometimes teens enjoy it and aren't significantly harmed by it (and a lot of people would be a lot more positive about it than that), but then again sometimes they do regret it and are harmed by it. The legal status of it depends on details incidental to the above. There's a ton of fiction out there about teens having sex, or doing sexual stuff short of actual intercourse, or trying to, and it's commercially and critically successful. There was a question yesterday in the Story Ideas forum about Rick and Morty fanfic. Morty is canonically 14, and some of the things he does in that show would get writers here super-ultra-banned.

But here at Literotica, we pretend that no one does anything sexual before they're 18, not even kissing as far as I know. This leads to jokes and frustrations about coming up with excuses for developmentally healthy 19-year-olds to be in their sophomore year, but somehow it all somehow works out.

Likewise, almost everyone could agree on a lot of carefully phrased statements about consent, what the lack of it does to people, and its legal and moral status in real life, but then there's Literotica's rules about it, which are very different...

But that's the point - even in the US itself, there is no line in the sand that is safe everywhere except "18 or over" so, that's what they do and I don't entirely blame them for it.

As a writer on here, I know the reason why so many stories I read have "18 year olds" that behave suspiciously like 14 year olds but I wonder how many random readers think it's weird.
