The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I'm STILL pissed about FoMoCo putting a plastic intake manifold on a V8... FFS!
I just picked up some corvette heads that came with a plastic intake, from 1999. So, it's been around a while.
A lot of people (myself included, sometimes) bemoan plastic. However there are use cases it's just fine. I'm not sure if intake is that application where it's fine, but they seem to hold up. And you can do things with airflow you can't with cast or forged aluminum parts. 🤷‍♂️

Found a set of winters on rims for the last car that didn't have any winters on rims today. On the way home it started snowing! Talk about waiting for the last minute! :ROFLMAO:

Most of the outside stuff is done now. Need to do a little maintenance and maybe a upgrade to the blower on the tractor, but the shop is heated so it won't be as painful as other projects would be out in the snow. Still trying to recover from the treezilla project, so it's going to be a slow day, methinks.

Hope you all have a good Saturday afternoon. Maybe I'll check in later, maybe not. Cold, wet, gray, rainy/snowy days have a habit of including a nap and extra snoozing.

I remember readin' it before. I hope you end up getting it. That's the fun stuff I like playing with. Have a similar-ish project with LS heads and an inline six planned.

My only thought reading about that one was using pipe plugs on the deck of the block. Lock-n-Stitch are good because the thread profile pulls the surrounding metal together. Tapered pipe, is, tapered pipe. Probably enough iron around to that you don't have to worry, something else might have been slightly better.

When did our parents turn in to little liars
You know that lady that wrote the book on downsizing? I think her name is Michelle Komodo…well, momma coulda shoulda wrote that book years ago! She could have made millions, because she’s the queen of gitt’n rid of clutter. Seems to run on her side of the family. Her brothers had immaculate shops and garages. My dad and myself fall on the messy hoarder side. She always kept that penchant in check.

My DiL actually gave her some cover. Said she just may have thrown it out because it had bad connotations from my dad…OK…maybe.

She’ll get a pass for this one little “white lie”…😂

What is it with these mommas? Took her to the doc yesterday. They were supposed to go over her last MRI from like a month ago. They should have had this pow-wow weeks ago IMO. Yet here we are…

She’s been complaining she still hurts so back in for an X-ray. Doc comes in and starts comparing her last four (you read that right) X-rays since August. Well guess what. She’s broken a bone in her T12! 😮. When the doc starts asking, and I start questioning, she finally admits that she slipped in the shower and pancaked on the shower stool from about 8-10”….🙄

See, she took the nice big one I had loaned her (from when SWMBO had knee surgery) and got a smaller one because it was prettier and smaller. 😫

Wit’s end…

After a nice lunch I took her to eye doctor and everything checked there…it was in the waiting room there I started asking about a bed guard I bought when my dad was bad off right before he passed. She sheepishly mentioned it’s in the attic. Well, when the kiddies brought my granddaughter over before trick or treating, we’re all trying to figure out how to deal with this and that’s when I find out she told my DiL that she threw the bed rail away…🫩

Wit’s end…

Didn’t have many little ghost’s and goblin’s. Our neighborhood is starting to “mature” so not as many kids…probably for the best.

Follow a few photographers around the InterWeb and one gal out of Norway does Macro on Fungi…

Ford had problems with them early on, but there's "fixes" for them.
Most brands have issues with early, "prototypes" that they sell us guinea pigs.🤣
Due to the nature of plastic though, I don't anticipate the manifolds to be usable on a 70+ year old car. 🤣
