My non-erotic story is 13 days in pending purgatory. Before that it was 3 weeks in pending purgatory. I deleted it and resubmitted it with a new title and a note to the reviewer explaining everything. I still say there's a glitch in the CMS

Sorry to hear 😢

Sorry to hear 😢

I'm going to wait a full month which will be November the 18th and then delete and submit as new but this time I will not put a note for the reviewer. I have a feeling that some of the sent back parameters are automatic (no human involvement). Such as word count and AI generation and if those flags aren't triggered some stories / poetry like mine slip through the crack of pending purgatory never to see a human's eye

That truly sucks. 🫤

This used to be a better place before the coming of the AI. It wasn't fundamentally different in any way, but I feel that the pressure and increased load of stories that came with the AI simply exposed the flaws that already existed. It made them more apparent and more prominent.

Hopefully, your patience will pay off.

Good luck 🍀

I think it is mostly better. I do have a story in pending go0ing on seven weeks. Resubmitted twice after three week waits. I will let it sit this time. All we can do right now is hope.

I agree that some send backs are either entirely automatic or get just a quick human glance (I think some content ones are the latter, which has led to very occasional, but not regular, absurd rejections, like 12 yr old scotch being under age)

Do you mean sub 750 for word count? I don't think there is another word count rejection case.

I strongly expect that AI is flagged automatically and then at least scan reviewed. A lot of the slow pending this summer needed with AI rejections, which really screams human review to me.

Yes, I was referring to the word count which can be done without human eyes; the same goes for AI generation. At first I thought the delay was because my story is in the non-erotic section and erotica is what Literotica is known for, but after seeing other people's stories also being in pending purgatory, I realized that is not the case. What I don't understand though is that there are plenty of stories with typos and grammatical errors that get approved and posted..

Interesting though, my poetry gets posted no later than 5 days after submission

The quick turn around is true for most submissions. Some delays can be guessed at. Others are pure mysteries of life (and Laurel and Manu).

Goo luck with yours.

Resubmitted Instructions Ch 4 on 10/24 after it initially sat in the queue for three weeks. Submitted A Win-Win Situation moments later.

Win-Win posted within 48 hours. Instructions is still waiting for its fourth chapter to arrive.

I posted the 18th part (chapter?) of "Synchroncity for Six" on September 15th. Then on September 29th. Again on October 12th. And lastly on October 27th. Never a rejection, and absolutely no communication from the moderator(s). I target 30,000 to 33,000 words per submission, as that results in 4-5 pages of published content which seems to be a good amount for those who read my stuff. I used to target the Romance category, but for part 17, I accepted someone's suggestion and targeted the Novels and Novellas category.

I'm now beginning to believe this to be a personal issue and not a content issue, although the "why?" is totally beyond me.

My delete and resubmit of My Wife's Best Friend Chapter 04 is still waiting. First was 10/10 - 10/22 ... as advised, I deleted and resubmitted with a note mentioning the issue. Still waiting.

I've been writing here since 2009.

I used to have my works published within a few days, but now... I haven't been able to get anything published in months. This latest isn't my first attempt this year.

I'm just so disheartened with this site. It has become completely unreliable.

I'm a new author, and I've been trying to publish my stories here since mid august. Both my stories are still in pending. Already tried to resubmit them three times, and still nothing. I'm already losing hope tbh

Granted mine is an edit to an already published story, but it's been sitting since 10/3.

Compared to most, that's not even that long. And I've heard that edits fall straight to the bottom of the stack.

I have a 10/5 edit pending. They always take at least three weeks (though I think Laurel might batch them and if you hit it just right it could be quicker).

With everything else going down here, I’m not sweating my edit.

And the best advice if stuck for some time (say 15 days) is delete, resubmit, pray.

Follow him and send him a message using the little envelope icon on the upper part of the screen
I sent him a message on Tuesday and never received a reply. The latest chapter of my story is still stuck in Pending and the whole thing was supposed to be published by today, since it was a Halloween story. Is it even worth posting stories here anymore?

Anyone have any other ideas? I can delete it and try again, but that will make five times for the same chapter.

I know that it's a volunteer effort and all for Laurel and Manu - is there anywhere we can organize for more volunteers to help? Is that something anyone has offered and been turned down?

As far as we know, only Laurel reviews submissions. I suspect she is loathe to surrender any of her authority on her baby.

That may be the case, but there's only so much of her to go around. I am sure there are at least a handful of people who would be qualified to review for at least one category or another. But I also get the tight control has made Lit what it is.
