The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Sometimes we need a greasy burger and fries. It just hits the spot....
Here it is very difficult to find the burger and fries both good at the same place at the same time. Which is how I got hooked on cheesesteaks when I lived near Philly. Coincidentally, I found a Chinese restaurant here in northern Virginia that makes a damn good cheesesteak and knows how to fry not only French fries but okra!
 
Yes, that is a great sandwich! Haven't been to Philly but it is on my bucket list to do and enjoy those!
You have to go to Philly for it. It is not only for the shaved ribeye, it is all about the bread and the sharp provolone.
It’s almost like something’s in the water there that makes the bread right. Or it is possible there is a little cream in there like what makes a bagel good. Haven’t ever figured out the secret.

I have a whole lot of my chicken stock in the freezer. I'll be making more soups and stews this fall and winter. 🍲
Please share how you freeze your stock. My sister uses ball jars. I’ve tried food saver bags but getting them sealed is a mess. I’d love to be able to save some of the quickie stocks I’ve made. Sometimes they come out so exceptional. I like making stock in the winter because a pot on the stove when it is cold outside is like a visit from mom or grandma.

In my pretend retirement today, the woman scored tickets to trick or treat at the Whitehouse. I get to play dad and grandpa taking the momma, kid and grand kid on our excellent adventure.
These other posts above I’m negotiating to take them to my cheesesteak place before we cross the river.

I remember this magazine on the stands, back when we had real magazine shops!

They still have a pretty serious following and collectors out there!

If I'm not using ball jars, I use the "stand and fill" freezer bags with the flat bottoms. I will use a leftover plastic container from yogurt or something to assist. I will open the bag and set it inside the yogurt container and then pour my stock into the freezer bag. I never fill more than 2/3 full. When I start to seal the top I use a straw at the very end to suck any excess air out of the bag. And then I take the sealed bag out of the yogurt container and set it in my freezer.

I have to give one on one education to doctors today. Some if them fir the 4th time..... about the same shit

Some people are just resistant to learning new things. And others are told it's mandatory to attend so they show up but they couldn't give a toss about being there.
Years ago I was in a position of conducting training for people to become certified and running a specific piece of equipment. More than half of them would show up and be on their cell phone the entire time. They simply could not be bothered.

No doubt! I haven’t actually seen an actual mag in years but did see a recent animated movie over the lockdowns. Not the animated movie from ‘82 but newer…HM2000 or something like that.

When I used to frequent some of the picture threads here, we did some Halloween themed things and I went through the almost 45 yrs of magazine covers. That’s what I’m kind of doing here….I get the feeling everyone is tired of it! 🤣

My inner 12 yr old is like…yeah!
