DEMS IN DECLINE: New Poll Shows 70% of Voters Think Democratic Party ‘Out of Touch’

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.29.25

The Democrat dumpster fire rages on…

A new survey released Monday by Welcome, a center-left group, found that 70% of Americans now say Democrats are “out of touch” with the issues that matter most — a stunning double-digit jump from a decade ago.

The party is increasingly viewed as obsessed with “Protecting the rights of undocumented immigrants” and “Protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans” — while alienating voters who care more about border security and fighting crime.

“To win elections, Democrats need to make the following changes. First, we need to focus more on the issues voters do not think we prioritize enough (the economy, the cost of living, health care, border security, public safety), and focus less on the issues voters think we prioritize too highly (climate change, democracy, abortion, and identity and cultural issues),” read the conclusion of Welcome’s “Deciding to Win” survey.

“Second, we need to moderate our positions on issues where our agenda is unpopular, including immigration, public safety, energy production, and some identity and cultural issues,” the group added.

In 2013, just 51% of voters saw Democrats as “out of touch.” By 2025, that number exploded to 70%.

The government shutdown by Schumer doesn't make any sense unless Schumer is calling it quits after his term is over with and he's taking the whole democratic party down the crapper with him.

We'll find out in another week. And voters have a problem prioritizing democracy and climate change? I have serious doubts about the integrity(?) of the poll(?).

The felon has been president during the 2 longest shut downs in history.

You really need to stop posting again, 🤡.
Trump has nothing to do with this shutdown. This is all on Schumer. 43 million will lose SNAP benefits because of Schumer. Brace for riots.

53 republican votes, need 7 democrat votes to make 60 for a CR, simple as that. Republicans don’t control the Senate, they have a majority, they have control of the, chairs that’s not full control. If they had control we’d have a CR. The nuclear option ain’t going to happen. Looks like Schumer is willing to accept riots in the streets, party loyalty over people. Keep bullshitting yourself.

Look how much stronger our American economy is since the minute Trump took office. Trump single handedly ended inflation. If Harris had stolen the election we’d all be paying out our ass because of inflation.

I wanna believe you but I need some sort of comparison.
Tell me, what are the inflation numbers now compared to what they were January 20th?

Groceries are all affordable now you liberal shithead. Trump said it in his UN speech last month that he defeated inflation.

So he’s like Captain Jean-Luc Picard “make it so!” Doesn’t work that way. And he hasn’t defeated inflation despite what he…said, lol.

Why would he inform the UN of that instead of telling this to the American consumer directly? Seems kinda strange but ya know what, if trump says it’s true then it’s true. 👍

That true too?

Oops…

Overall, Americans blame Trump and the GOP for the shutdown by a 14-point margin — up four points from last week. And Trump and Republicans in Congress are increasingly seen in a negative light over what they’re fighting for in the shutdown.

At the same time, Trump is now seeing his lowest approval rating since 2018, according to Navigator. Other polls have produced similar results.

Three out of four Americans have heard some news of the shutdown. And about two-thirds (66%) have heard a lot or some about it.

It’s having a massive impact.

“64 percent believe the shutdown will have a negative impact on them personally, up from half who thought the same last week. Even more (77 percent) believe it will have a negative impact on the country,” Navigator reported.

Nearly half of Americans, 47%, blame Trump and Republicans for the shutdown, an increase of four points over last week.

“Since last week, independents increasingly blame Trump and Republicans more than Democrats for the government shutdown,” according to Navigator. “When forced to choose between Trump and Republicans or Democrats, a majority say Trump and Republicans have the power to end it (52 percent – 21 percent).”

Americans also see Trump and the GOP as trying to keep the government shut down, and give Democrats “more credit” for trying to keep the government open.

A plurality, 42%, say Democrats are fighting for health care and see that as a positive.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans (64%) want Trump and the GOP to compromise with Democrats, and by a strong margin (39 points).

Overall, according to Navigator’s graphics, when asked about nine issues, Americans’ top concern (76%) currently is the shutdown, and it has no clear end in sight.

That’s closely followed by the rising cost of health care and Americans losing coverage without congressional action (74%).

Food stamp funding (SNAP) running out on Nov. 1, leaving about 42 million people without federal nutritional assistance, comes in a close third (73%).

All this appears to be having an impact on Trump’s popularity.

😳

BOTH parties are out of touch, but the one in charge now is actively and agressively making things WORSE for the majority of the country. Most people, even the fiercest critics of the Democratic party, are well aware of this.

Yes, the Democrats DO need to work on their messaging, and developing a platform that de-emphasizes the social issues and focuses on economic issues, health care, and education- things that actually affect people on a personal level. I've said this before, but the average rootabagga farmer in North Dakota probably doesn't give two hoots if some dude wants to dress as a chick and play women's volleyball. So why would he support a party that makes that into a big issue?

Yes, they are better than Trump, this should go without saying, but the Democrats need to do a better job of explaining to the average rootabagga farmer WHY this is true. Especially when these farmers care about little else other than the market price of rootabaggas.

Sure, if you have TDS and just hate Trump even though he’s the only one actually fighting for Americans.
