If you are having a lengthy delay in publishing, please add the name of your story and when submitted here.

It seems like Laurel is being careful about that, But at worst I think, you lose. It was probably not going to win a prize anyway. It can be added to the list retroactively.

Not sure what you mean? I have a story edit pending from October 5th, that’s not abnormal. And I can imagine edits are even further down the priority list right now.
I followed the instructions in this FAQ article: https://www.literotica.com/faq/publishing/editing-published-work

My story edit has been pending since September 14th.

The original story, which I write for the 2025 Summer Lovin' contest, is Travel Nurse, or The Last Word. Adding "- EDITED" after the title would make it too long, so changing the title to "STORY EDIT" is the recommended fallback plan, which I did. My modifications are minor.

I don't really get it. I understand a backlog and things can happen. But just inform us.
I know it's a free site, but I think we all put a lot of free effort into our writing too. It would be nice to be aknowledged for that.
Can’t argue with that 😢

Did you state which story it was for in the Notes box?

Julia's Nightmare Part 2.

Submitted 9/22/25.

Before this stories, all my stories were published within 3 days.
MILF and the Scouts 10/6/25
Nap Time with Uncle Johnny 10/9/25

It’s never taken this long for me and I’m holding new stories until this can be resolved

The post-mortem of Monday's AWS debacle shows how trying to do anything else during recovery (even just recovery itself) can be counter-productive.

If you are technically inclined, the story of it is humorous, even a little PTSD inducing to me. https://aws.amazon.com/message/101925/
Maybe that Lady Gaga song Abracadabra was actually about this.

But in short, that incredibly long and boring text, where “DNS” pops up about fifty times, basically says something crashed, and the recovery process caused another crash. And because they tried to speed things up with auto-scripts, even more systems started rebooting.

Just submitted my first story after more than a year. I'll let you know how it fares in the queue.
I'll be honest, I'd be pretty pissed off if they mess it up somehow. ;)

It's 26k words long, and it took me a long time to finish it.

As of today I have 5 stories sitting in Pending:

2 since 9/25 (30 days)

Happy Anniversary (Group Sex)
Three Wishes (Sci Fi/Fantasy)

1 since 10/4 (21 days)

Benny The Bull - Book 01 (Group Sex)

1 since 10/9 (16 days)

The Rules (Group Sex)

And 1 since 10/21 (under 15 days so not listing here)

Not sure what my next step is. All 4 of those were well over 3 weeks when I decided to resubmit them .. so those first 2 are 30 days but really over 50 days.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

J4S

My sympathies!

I can only suggest wholly deleting them and resubmitting. It’s not guaranteed to work, but it’s worth trying as it has helped some people.

I posted a story in Satire and it I got published within 30 hours.

I think that there is a small amount of stories that fall randomly in the black pending hole.

@Just4Sheets , you got very unlucky to have stories caught unless you publish a ton of stories weekly.

At The Gym (Group Sex)

Did you get returned from some of those? I assume so from your disclaimers you added.

The internal date changes (like the 9/22) have always happened sometimes. Or at least for years before me. The belief is that it means the story passed some internal stage in the pipeline, maybe an AI checker, maybe creating the page name. Details are all pure conjecture on our part.

No. It has just been stuck in Pending the whole time.

I'm confused why you added the disclaimers each time. And you only waited a week (8 days from submission) for the first one.

To be honest, if I was Laurel, I would be reading the story carefully now, checking to see if it had underage characters you were trying to slide by. Let her reject something for that before you try to defend it, unless there really is a problem.

Same for the AI. Unless you know something about your story, why would she have any suspicion of AI? I have no doubt that stories from @Actingup and @MelissaBaby are clean of AI (or underage) and they got caught in the pending.

I'm not surprised that mine got stuck at least briefly, and I think the problem was that some things that were stuck briefly got wedged long term. It seems to be better, if not completely back to where it was earlier this summer. Personally, I'm going to leave mine sit for a long time before resubmitting again. (I have after three weeks, twice).
