Day 5: A villain from a spooky movie that you personally don't find that scary.

For me to find a movie scary, I have to be worried about the characters. And I don't tend to care about stupid characters. Competent characters, doing intelligent things, making smart decisions, being clever, but still failing to stop the villain is where I get scared. I could give examples of what I mean, even within the same series, but I shall forbear in respect for The One Rule.

So I have a lot I can list, but I am going top tier -- S tier even:

Jason Voorhees has never been scary at all.
His mother on the other hand...

Religious themes/plotlines in horror movies don't scare me (probably an unpopular opinion, but movies like The Omen, Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist were boring to me as a kid and when I rewatched them as an adult).
I just watched Rosemary’s baby for the first time and meh. Found the beginning interesting and then once I realized it was about Satanists, I lost interest.

Day 6: What would your reimagining of a spooky classic movie be?

Not an adaptation of the ones we all know and love, but a reinterpretation using the basic elements from your favorite movie... with a twist! πŸŽ¬πŸ€”πŸ–‹

I'm looking forward to this one!

The werewolf in An American Werewolf in London.

I felt sorry for the character of David at first. And then jealousy as my teenage hormones lusted for Jenny Agutter. Never felt scared though, not even during the werewolf transition and gory scenes.

This was really hard. And by hard I mean it gave me a throbbing erection thinking about it, but I fought through it and came (πŸ˜„) up with . . .

The Island of Dr. Moreau’s Most Dangerous Game.

Salma Hayek plays Dr. Moreau, a lovelorn scientist who has built an army of sex-crazed super models to learn what love truly is. They have sex all day as she watches and touches herself, but it isn’t enough, so she decided to cause shipwrecks off the coast of her tropical island and use the passengers to be hunted down and seduced by her sex soldiers.

Our story begins with a boat of four couples on a therapy cruise to save their failing relationships. Luckily, they’re all hot!

Will one of these couples be able to save themselves, and their relationship, while showing the Dr. what true love really looks like?

Will they be able to overcome all the cum?

Find out, in . . .

The Island of Dr. Moreau’s Most Dangerous Game in 3-D!
Rated NC-21 (we’re going to have to create a new rating for this one!).

Ok, ive thought long, deep and hard on this one, well long and deep, er long..... ok I thunked.

Gremlins.

Instead of balls popping out of his back when wet, he splits by Mitosis, depending on how wet he is, depends on how many splits. Each split absorbs some of the water.

A proper explanation of "Don't feed after midnight" 23:59 is still after midnight. So don't feed during the witching hour.

The transformation from Mogwai to Gremlin, be shown as them getting ill, scabs, split skin, blood etc. Followed by them peeling their own skin off after 24 hours.

Light doesn't kill them, like some lizards they can regrow lost limbs, making them harder to kill. Only major injuries kill them.

Their bite is venomous, causing paralysis within 30 minutes unless treated.

They are also Carnivores, so will bite people and then comeback later to feed.

They spread cross country not just a little town.

Allowing for sequels that dont include Gizmo "accidentally" getting wet.

Non-erotic adaptation: The Mothman Prophecies - such a disappointing, dull film given the original, creepy, source material, I would set it in an English cathedral town and introduce old, British myths and legends to make it a folk horror.

Erotic adaptation: The Exorcist - respectable young woman is possessed by a female demon. Tied naked to a bed, she begins seducing the old and young priest sent to exorcise her.

The movie is by no means a classic, nor do I think it even works as a good 80's thriller. I also believe this film had a unique premise, some good performances, and thought some of it was quite effective as a supernatural thriller. I don't know how I would reimagine the film today, but I know there's possibly a great film in the story somewhere.

You must only choose one.
