Maybe you could tie in more of the original movie, where a person is accidentally taken back to the demon dimension, but I think there's already plenty of story to write without that.

What comes to mind is a mechanic similar to the Dominate discipline from VtM: as a vampire, you can only use Dominate on mortals and other vampires who are of your same Generation number or higher. You can't use Dominate on lower-generation vampires; it automatically fails.

There's also the "Iron Will" Merit, which protects characters from doing things against their will, and that includes falling victim to Dominate.

Something like that can apply.

Just like with the Monsters movies, I think you've got the perfect prequel here

I love this story. I feel like it could almost turn into a meet-cute romcom.

Like many said, she struggles out of the gate and then immediately starts seeing her new rival crush her numbers.
