I have a story apparently going live tomorrow - “published” and “new” tags under “pending" - and the title was changed from what I submitted.

My title was: Hobby Buddy Borrows His Wife, Again
It was changed to: Hobby Buddy Borrows His Wife Ch. 02

There is a Hobby Buddy Borrows His Wife published earlier this year and, yes, the new story is a continuation of sorts. But I wouldn’t label it a second chapter.

I know from lurking here the site managers try to group obviously related stories this way, but this numbering thing is not what I intended in the title. They convey different things. My original title was to give the impression of an exasperated sigh of the wittol putting up with the situation. Is there any way to correct it without bothering the site admins?

Thanks.

Only Laurel can change it.

Could this maybe be fixed by creating a manual series and then resubmitting (so you'd have to pull it back) with your original title but put it into the manually created series? Include a note to Laurel about why you'd be doing that as well? This is me thinking "aloud" so to speak since I have never used either series function, but I wonder if this could be a use case for a manual series.

Send Laurel a note stating this and she will fix it when she gets around to it. Based on 'things' I get the feeling she'd kind of behind on things right now.

If you'd rather not publish the story than see it published with the altered title, you can open up your draft before about midnight UTC-7 tonight ("Mountain Time"?) and make an edit. That'll revert the status to pending and you can resubmit with your preferred title and a note to Laurel.

Laurel did something similar to one of mine. I didn't intend for it to be a sequel/ch 2, but it wasn't a big deal to me, so I never did anything about it.

Thanks. I’m going to let it fly with what’s there. From what I’ve been reading on the forum, apparently a lot of folks are experiencing huge delays. Mine was scheduled for tomorrow, less than 18 hours after submitting. The Literotica gods must be smiling upon me.

Wise move.

Laurel's way will join your two stories together, and if ever you want to continue further, just go with Ch.03. She's actually done you a favour, if you look at it that way. Readers won't care about the subtlety you see, as the writer.

Bother the Admins because you are right, a change like that alters your intent and will also scare off potential new readers who will automatically skip a "Ch. 02" because they didn't read chapter 1
