As difficult to remove as a lazy gubment employee.LOLOL. A permanent position?
Glad you see the humor, in reality it is sad. The lowest of low is the average educator in higher learning.

That was the exact patience I lacked when I took the desk job to get out of the gubment office and 3-5hour round trip commute.Oh no, my employer has work. The issue here is, we have 7 neighborhoods in this agreement. They have to deliver in the order in which they were started. Since I'm the start guy - and likely the only one outside the office who "gets it" - I know where we're supposed to be next, and of course which order in which they were started. Problem is, this last guy they hired is a fucking moron, and he claimed he could run this shit with his eyes closed. Seems he ran that last job into a ditch with his eyes open. We had a Mandatory Teams Meeting this morning. He no-showed. If I were in charge of this shitshow, he'd be short-time.

I am sure he like all those who replaced the losers gone since I left were hired from within. The management chose the lessor of evils to replace their peers who hire idiots as minions to tread water and sustain their 'essential' no show jobs.
I feel for ya. But continue on. You are in the middle but in the best position to outlast them all.
Before my IT life I did mortgages as a minion at GE Capital. Director level and up financial management positions were filled with great performing dolts from shoe sales, locomotives and jet engines. GE Capital Financial was eliminated within 3.5 years after I took the position and chief button pusher and ass kisser.
Where do they learn this management style?
Well, shoot. I'dve liked to seen you give it a shot.Good lord!
Such beautiful punnery and funnery!
I’d like to sneak gunnery in there too but I am not clever enough to do so.

There are no permanent jobs in my industry. If you don't pull your weight, you are out on your ass. I understand about slugs living on the gravy-train in big bureaucracies. That's one reason that COP just laid off a lot of middle managers that essentially do very little. As difficult to remove as a lazy gubment employee.

There was an old man name of 'Wunnery'Gunnery and nunnery.
As in, “get thee to one…”![]()
It was pretty good! I went to a birthday party for one of my friends on Saturday night. I baked cherry vanilla cupcakes and mini blueberry cheesecakes for it!Lilianna how was your weekend
I've heard of these. I want to try to make one. I'm pretty hopeless with pie crust but I make great shortbread! I often use it as crust for pies. So, you have heard about my sweet tooth. I cannot deny it. I am partial to an apple tart but my absolute favourite is a bakewell tart. Mmm, delicious!

Whoo-hoo!...and the gate is still locked.
Naked Sunday got extended for another day!
I hope you've since gotten better rest!No snake, snakes last night... human variety snakes instead. Bizarre and lots of running. Was kind of like playing football where my team was playing 2-hand-touch and the other team was playing tackle. Way too much dodge-and-weave with running, running, running. I'm exhausted![]()
Physiologically, this doesn't make any sense. All your blood, and therefore water, gets filtered by your kidneys. They send the waste product (urine) to your bladder. Cells take water they need from the blood. So, if you drink salt water before bed, you'll likely have the same kidney function as you do with fresh water.I have a bad habit of perusing the Oracle of all knowledge (UT000b) and saw something about your last sip of water at night (she had a couple of supplements she was taking) should be salt water?
Never heard of such, but here’s her theory; the salt water moves to replenish cells and doesn’t go straight to your bladder. That way you don’t feel the “need”…haven’t put this to trial and error yet, but sounds good?
Thanks for sharing your apple knowledge with us, DKA!So the thing about apples that not many people realize is that the seed from the fruit will not make the parent apple. Almost all require cross pollination to produce fruit. This means the seed isn't the parent genetics. (OK, apparently there are a couple that are self fertile, but that is extremely rare). This means you probably won't find apple seeds in a seed bank.
Any particular variety of apple is grown from scion wood, or a cutting of the tree. That means granny smith apple trees are all clones of the first granny smith apple, owned by granny smith, an so on. That's why some varieties get lost to time. That's why there are so many varieties, too. It's also why it's worth trying wild apples, and if they turn out to be good, one cutting and some root stock and you can have your own copy.
How is he doing? With the driving and dialysis?Ugh .... keep on keeping on
Dialysis day
Dad drove yesterday. A week of practice and to see how he feels after dialysis is in order. He is in there snoozing
Yum!My preference is for an apple crisp.
Chop 'em up, add a can of cranberry sauce and an oatmeal based (with cinnamon) crumble topping and bake!![]()
This would look so cool! Yes! Hurry up so you can send us a picture!I think the record is something like 50 different apple varieties on one tree. People do that sort of stuff as a hobby.
It works for other fruits too.

In small yards with only room for one tree, you might need a tree with two varieties of apple just to get fruit. The Zestar and Honeycrisp tend to bloom together so are a good match in an orchard. Not sure how well they do on one tree, tho. With multiple types on one tree, it takes good pruning to prevent one from taking over completely.
I have really wanted to do an Espalier. I think a Belgian fence of different varieties of apples would be neat. Alternate reds/yellows or something.

Probably should get started on that, if I ever want to see the results in my lifetime!![]()
Well, she IS very pretty! And if that captures your attention, then it's a good thing, right? When we moved back from Germany, we had BBCAmerica…they had a couple of cooking shows on there I’d watch. Now before this, all I cooked was ramen noodles, breakfast foods, and I could grill. That’s it.
Started watching Nigella Lawson’s show and got the interest to start trying a little bit of this and that she showed. SWMBO would come in and say, “oh give me a break…you’re watching HER, not how to cook!”.
I of course protested and then had to put up or stop watching! She liked my cooking and the rest is history!

OMG!Yes was great evening but the drive back was horrendous gales and rain. The worst I have driven in for a. Dry long time!
Another baffling conundrum of nature. Which came first? Chicken or the egg. I’m glad some of the ones that figured apples out liked sweet apples. I’m a sucker for those. So the thing about apples that not many people realize is that the seed from the fruit will not make the parent apple. Almost all require cross pollination to produce fruit.
