AI struggles with truly original thinking, nuanced creativity, and complex ethical decisions, areas where human intuition and imagination excel. Jobs requiring empathy, persuasion, negotiation, or emotional support rely on subtle human interaction that AI can’t authentically replicate. Humans can adapt quickly to completely new problems or environments, using common sense and experience. AI depends heavily on data from past scenarios and often fails outside its training. We can also expect to see society limiting AI use in sensitive fields (medicine, law enforcement, military) to retain human accountability and oversight. I suspect there to be a behind-the-scenes struggle between those in favor of accountability and those attempting to escape it that will figure into the process as well.
