If you are having a lengthy delay in publishing, please add the name of your story and when submitted here.

The last story I had published was on 9/14, it was not a contest story and it went up with no problems.
It’s important to recall that most stories are getting through. Based on volume analyses (done by other people) between 80 and 90% of stories are posting just fine. The issue is those getting stuck stay stuck forever.

Definitely a CMS bug. Bug report submitted.

I'm not sure what you are reporting as a bug. Your middle poem, Click, has been accepted and will go live tomorrow. This is the way the system has always displayed accepted, awaiting publication stories (or poems). I found this very confusing originally. It is one of the things I wanted to explain in my how to for new authors that is itself in pending hell.

My other 2 poems (and 1 story), submitted earlier remain pending. CMS logic - "work" should be passed to humans in 'date submitted' order. Seventeen dead remains pending and i submitted it much earlier (same non erotic poetry category)

Some stories are getting caught, others aren’t. It seems to be essentially random.

Seventeen dead was originally submitted in early September, I waited 2 weeks (in pending queue), deleted it, and submitted it as new mid September. Still pending as you can see from the screenshot on my previous reply. Seems to me that it is indeed a bug that needs to be acknowledged and fixed. "Random" doesn't cut it

Lit doesn't require exclusivity, but if I also submitted the story to other sites and it's posted there already, is the dumb little AI robot likely to think it's plagiarism? (Yo, robot, it's my work!)

Of course it’s a bug. But its effects seem random. I assume they are looking at it and that it’s not easy to diagnose / fix. Or that there are some process / personnel issues contributing to it.

since the cms was last updated in 2000, finding the bug will be like finding a bee's stinger in a haystack. seems like the "work around" is to wait two weeks, delete, submit as new, and repeat until work is published.

From what I’ve read, a “time reset” supposedly means someone either changed something in the submission (definitely not me), or it passed through some filter, or even that it got approved but got lost in the void. Honestly, I doubt any of those. It feels like something else entirely, some fault in their fragile system. Wouldn’t even surprise me if it’s their AI-detection losing its mind. But why it’s targeting me specifically? That’s what I don’t get. My other stories were going up fine back in August. Ever since then, everything’s just been getting stuck, with only a few making it through.

This happened to me today. I don’t think it’s a system error. I think they have a button that can reset time in bulk, and whenever they can’t keep up with the queue, they secretly use it to make sure nothing appears to be pending for too long on paper.

Yup. And that isn’t guaranteed. Some have reported getting stuck a second time.

I think describing Lit as having a CMS might be stretching the definition a little. I’ve been told that it’s an ancient code base, with bits dating back to the site’s creation.

i have one non erotic story and one non erotic prose pending a second time to see if that "workaround" works. also per literotica's about page, they have a cms

https://www.literotica.com/resources/about-literotica

"Around the year 2000, as we upgraded our community forum from UBB (Perl) to vBulletin (PHP), we met a brilliant programmer who helped us create the custom Literotica content management system, which remains the foundation of the site to this day. Not having to hand code every story before it was published, hand count votes, and do other busy work feed up more time create new website features as they were requested by authors and readers."
