Our poor Communities Are Eating Themselves

Yeah our polls are low because we aren't doing our jobs, also because we're not sheep. We're still a ways out but it would be pretty shocking nto to see serious gains in 2026 for the Dems.
No, the left is polling shity because they believe in woke bullshit. They have gone rogue and extreme

Fortunately, most Americans disagree with you, as I demonstrated.
Well, of course, left-leaning people do because they want welfare. think I'm the only one here who owns a business. most people on Literotica are in the bottom 20% in terms of income

13 Supermarkets ABANDON Milwaukee… Over Theft Epidemic

July 30, 2025 2:20 pm by Alex Mark

5 entire grocery stores are leaving the city of Milwaukee at once, along with 2 walgreens locations. Local officials and residents are outraged, and want the stores to stay. Kroger who owns the 5 Pick n Save locations says the stores are leaving for ‘health of the business’ reasons… which requires an investigation.

Despite the recent news that Family Dollar would be closing nearly 1,000 of their 8,000 American locations, dollar stores are spreading across the country at a staggering rate. Since 2011, the number of dollar stores nationwide has climbed from 20,000 to over 30,000, meaning there are now more dollar stores than Walmart and McDonald’s combined, according to a report from the Institute for Local Self-Reliance.

Though they rarely carry fresh fruit, vegetables and meat — and despite likely exacerbating American food deserts — dollar stores are actually the fastest-growing food retailers in the United States, according to a 2023 study from experts at Tufts University School of Medicine and the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, which was published in the American Journal of Public Health.

There are a variety of reasons for that, but one of the most significant by far is the way in which big-name supermarkets have largely abandoned, or avoided, many low-income neighborhoods over the last half-century, leaving a gigantic vacuum for dollar stores to fill, specifically in urban communities of color.

Then they hold demonstrations saying that having food is a right.
Maybe they could stay in business if Trump didn’t make them pay people to take food.

Welfare recipients rarely vote. The vast majority of those who vote for higher taxes for the rich work for livings.

just where did you demonstrate that?
Look at my comment #206. This is what I posted:

Most Americans continue to favor raising taxes on corporations, higher-income households

ByAndy Cerda

With Congress considering legislation that would extend the tax cuts passed during the first Trump administration, a majority of Americans continue to say taxes should be increased, not decreased, for large businesses and corporations. They also say this for household income over $400,000 a year.

More than six-in-ten U.S. adults (63%) say tax rates on large businesses and corporations should be raised. This includes 34% who say they should be raised a lot. Another 19% say large businesses’ tax rates should be lowered, while 17% say they should be kept the same as they are now.

About six-in-ten (58%) say tax rates on household income over $400,000 should be raised, including 23% who say these tax rates should be raised a lot. Much smaller shares say taxes on higher-income households should be lowered (19%) or kept the same (21%).

we need to cut taxes, not raise them. American corporations suffer enough
I've yet to see a corporation go hungry, out on the streets, and subject to a presidents removal [except for those that poke fun of him.]

The adage that cutting corporate taxes promotes economic growth is unfounded. They are doing well, witness, the exorbitant raises to their leaders and dividend payouts.

Taxes are what should be used to reduce the deficit. Why would you reduce taxes on a source that is not sharing its wealth?

well you should purchase stocks! why should a corporation share?

Conjecture. You have do data to support your bias. And this statement in no way reflects on a silly thread title's topic about peopll eating themselves. It like a sound bite from the Felon's unsubstantiated declaration that Haitians are eating people's pets. He lied. Still lies. Will lie again and again.

The welfare system was designed to provide temporary support. For some it did that, but it didn't and doesn't provide for the means for those individauls to rise above the poverty line. That requires, for most believers in a work ethic, training and availability of jobs at wages that allow families to thrive not just survive. That's missing today.

I'm retired, having owned two previous businesses. In retirement my income is in the top 10% percentile. Maybe, I'm not the average Lit peruser, but I'm intelligent enough to see through your unsupported 'horseradish banter' and bias views.
