On my third attempt, the same thing happened again. Time got reset back to 0 after a day or so. I'll do it once more and if it happens again, I'll just scrap the story and rewrite it entirely.

The Beauties and the Caged Beast since 20/September (Resubmitted after rejection). The Forbidden Bride since a few days ago.

These two are still pending. A few days ago, I resubmitted "The Beauties and the Caged Beast." After that, I submitted a new story titled "A Smothering Mother." The newest story just came out today. I think they are publishing the shorter ones first.

I wonder if their db system is maxed out and they don't have room for more stories. Laurel went and advertised the Halloween contest like nothing was wrong.
I have 2 story edits posted on 9/17 and a new story to go along with them on 10/1. My halloween story should be done by 10/5

Readers are emailing me with odd things they are seeing. One reader can't even get into the site anymore. Another reader saw a new story on the new story list, but when he went to that author's page it wasn't there.

We used to talk a lot. Then we kinda fell out a bit around me bitching about how the rating system was broken. But she’d often still reply if I had a story-related question, assuming she thought it valid.

I hope she is okay. Before August, there were a handful of complaints, but nothing compared to this. Have you tried reaching out to Laurel, asking if everything’s okay with the site?

I guess the options include technical issues, vacation, illness, death, relationship problems, financial issues, physical disaster, legal issues, impact of crime, and alien abduction (preferably tentacled). In all of these cases, some kind of update to authors to help maintain the brand would be terrific, but depending on the nature of the problem it may be tricky to tell us much.
