A good place to catch me is at a Laundramat. Everyone needs to wash their clothes, and a fair number of older guys don't have laundry facilities where they live, like me. I'm in a relaxed mood while doing my laundry, and there's lots of down time while the machines do their thing. I'm not at home, and 99% of the time I'm alone. This is great for conversing, even with guys that tend to be shy. And doing laundry is rarely a one-time thing. Conversations from last week can be picked up the next week.

And think of all those loose quarters in my pockets. If you're really lucky, you'll catch me with an unopened roll!

It would depend on the locations you frequent.

Obviously teachers are probably off limits. What about people that work in administration or maintenance on campus?

Do you live off campus? If in an apartment building, what about your landlord? Any older neighbors?

Do you have a job? A restaurant you frequent? Im sure you actually go places where those men fit your qualifications. Identify one or two that you are attracted to physically and start flirting.

I'm almost 40, a dad, and generally too busy to be seen outside doing anything other than exactly what I'm there to do. Even when I'm very rarely out to enjoy myself, I'm at the age where I'm just very content in myself/not looking to force a conversation. If a woman happened to sit next to me at the bar, and is attractive, I might spark a conversation with her. But approaching someone from across the room is almost out of the question, especially if she looks much younger.

Such a great question, finding an higher end sports bar and sitting at the bar on slow nights is a good way to meet older men without the all of the crowd.

I think another good way, outside of just smiling at us, would be to go places they are. Golf courses and bars are good, but can make it overly obvious what your intentions are. What many of us like with younger women is teaching them something or helping them in some way.

Maybe research some interesting small group art classes with male teachers. Go to the driving range and learn to golf, go to public pickleball courts and start playing with random strangers!

The gym is always a good one but the best men will be your gym buddy and never openly flirt with you as they want to respect that you’re there to work out, not hook up/meet men. A lot of shyer guys or introverts will be tough to connect with at a gym.

Other things coils be a local book club or track down “wellness” events as that’s a whole movement of people and while there won’t be a surplus of old people (it’s a younger persons movement) there will be a lot of men in their early 40’s there to socialize.
