What’s a TV show you recall fondly from when you were younger?

Please don’t publish ages (avoid “I was ten when X premiered”), but something from when you were younger.

I’ll go for Lost, which I kinda felt I grew up watching. Might have been something to do with this lady (certainly as I got older and um… began to figure stuff out):

Though I quite liked Jin-Soo as well:

Not a big a fan of either Jack or Sawyer.

I should probably add this was prompted by beginning to watch Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue.
@EmilyMiller,
"Captain Scarlet
He's the one who knows the Mysteron game
And things they plan

Captain Scarlet
To his Martian foes a dangerous name
A Superman

They crash him, and his body may burn
They smash him, but they know he'll return to live again"

Indestructible... Captain Scarlet... (Go ahead, google it if you like, I don't mind 😆)

I feel like Truman because I hold every show from my childhood sacred. Especially Saturday Morning Cartoons ending with Merrie Melodies at 11 am

Reruns of Star Trek TNG, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager 😍

Also a ton of cartoons and anime! Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Cowboy Bebop, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Adventure Time, a variety of Gundam series...
You got to love the Star Treks. I saw the original runs and it's hard to beleive TNG is 38yrs old.

To answer the question, I remember the A-Team and I will have to put my self out there by admitting I did enjoy the rerun of Thunderbirds.

More or less the same for me, just add Dexter’s Laboratory and Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Battlestar Muthafuckin' Galactica. The Katee Sackhoff / Edward James Olmos version.

The pilot blew me away with the first space battle when the Galactica gets hit and you saw bodies getting vented into space. At that moment, I knew I was watching something different. Grace Park was one of the first ethnically Korean actresses I'd seen in the sci-fi / fantasy types of stuff that I loved growing up, and it was really eye-opening to see someone who looked like me getting a large role in a well-done sci-fi series. If she could have a place in sci-fi, could I?

I still have the merch…

Unfortunately, not my original ‘Dinky 359 & 360’ die-cast models – I had to give those away in one of our many house moves… along with my doll with the hole through the head and scale model of a Vought F4U Corsair.

Those toys should be enough clues to guess my early childhood favorites:

Space: 1999
The Six Million Dollar Man
Baa Baa Black Sheep

Seeing ‘Space 1999 at Selfridges’ is one of my earliest memories.

(For those about to reply saying “I was there, too.” Yes, I remember you – you were wearing the brown corduroy pants. :)

Wait! No one's mentioned Monty Python yet? It's the source of half the memes on the Internet! The very word 'spam' that's in every email menu comes from the famous spam skit. And half the scripts on the Net are written in a language called Python because the creator of that language was a big fan. Even today Python manuals use vocabulary from the show in the example code.

Then there's:

The Nordic Blue episode
The Ministry of Silly Walks
The Upperclass Twit of the Year Contest
"I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay!"

The list goes on and on.

And while I have your attention on the subject of British TV, don't forget Dr Who. It's still running! "Exterminate!"

Transitioning into my teens - The Young Ones, followed by The Comic Strip Presents. The group who made these: Pete Richardson, Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson, Jennifer Saunders, at al, were a breath of fresh air and 'changed the way we laughed.' Around that time we had Blackadder as well, which I enjoyed and was very well constructed and scripted, but sometimes I felt relied just a bit too much on punchlines - yes, Baldrick, I know you have a cunning plan, but that was less and less funny, and worked much better in the context of the first series. Still, it was gut-wrenchingly funny at times, and Miranda Richardson was stupidly hot.

Fawlty Towers is something I go back to regularly for the absurd quality of plotting and scripting. A real joy to watch how each 30 odd minutes was constructed.

Later on, so more transitioning out of my twenties we had Spaced - Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevenson and Nick Frost in a comedy that felt more like a fly on the wall for me and my friends. Black Books also from that time period.

Looking at these, they're all comedies, but they were comedies that felt like they were also commentaries on the world around them (with the obvious exception of Blackadder), as the best comedies should be.

That's pretty damn hard-core, having Space:1999 models.

I especially remember the episode with the monster with tentacles that would suck people into its mouth.

Thunderbirds. Space pilot marionettes. I absolutely loved the affectionate and zany send-up of the concept that Stone and Parker did with Team America: World Police.

If we are going really young, I would say the Banasplits - although I might have been watching reruns, maybe

Yes, brilliant UK comedy, plus Alexis Sayle and a good band. The punchline, "Cliff!" is unforgettable.

Yes, the first series were better, I reckon, and stupidly hot describes her perfectly.

Like The Young Ones, these classic comedies knew when to stop. Twelve episodes, there's no time for dullness or bad writing.

Red Dwarf was my go-to for a long time.

This!

Going further back for me - Doctor Who. I started watching with Patrick Troughton, the Second Doctor, in black and white.
