Received A Slightly Disturbing Fan Message - Should I Respond?

The thing with comments like this is there is always the chance they're blowing smoke. I think that often when I get the "This reminds me of when I fucked my sister, then mom caught us and hopped in and..."

They're not limited to comments and feedback here, you'll find this crap in some of the fetish and personals threads.

There was-maybe still is, I'm not looking for it, a thread called Incest is Best that I always said if you wanted to be cured of writing fantasy incest stories to hang out and read through it. The thread was constantly having posts removed for underage and for some reason the mods let it keep going, but it might be gone now. If half that shit was real, just...ugh. Because they werren't shy about talking about forcing it on their family either.

The worst one I received was on a dad/daughter story I wrote that was a bit on the rougher side, but consensual

"Yeah, that's how it started with my daughter. She fought a lot at first but got used to it."

I tell myself that was someone trolling, but maybe not.

There are sick fucks out there and some would blame us for writing the stories that appeal to their dysfunction, but that falls under the same umbrella as every witch hunt ever. The Matrix caused Columbine reeeee and all that stuff.

I see these as little reminders though of what we see as fun fantasy is someone's unhealthy issue

I know almost nothing about this person, so I can't read too much into this brief message, and even if I could there's likely nothing meaningful I could do on my end. Even so, I'm pretty disturbed by this message, and since this person provided an email address to reply to, I'm wondering if I should.
Maybe the most constructive way to handle this would be to make a story out of it (with the sender as a character in it)?

I'm sure there's a story that could be spun out of this, but it wouldn't be the kind of story I'd ever want to write.

Not a bad idea actually.

Next time I publish something and receive the obligatory flood of fan-mail informing me how I should be brutalised in various anatomically impossible ways, I will take note and try using them as inspiration. Make lemonade out of lemons, as the saying goes.

As a woman, especially one who's now eight and a half months pregnant, my reaction to that possibility isn't "ewww!" It's "Yikes! What if this potentially unstable person flips out and attacks me?" I don't wish anything bad for these people, and I hope they get the help they need, but I don't want to risk my own safety in the process.
@Kasumi_Lee,
OMG...!!! Congratulations... not long to go, an October child... how wonderful. All the best wishes and energies for you my dear colleague!!!
Deepest respects,
D
