I have a couple of ideas, but what pops into your mind for her revenge?

I think, the easiest route and maybe most expected would probably be to have her seduce the mistress away into being her exclusive submissive.

Another one, would be for her to find out everything this younger woman wants in life, and then bankrupt her husband by sending her to the best college to achieve her dreams.

She could also forge some documents to show that the mistress is a long lost daughter of either of them.

Anything else I could think of, would not involve befriending the mistress.

Like have the wife and husband eventually have a spectacular confrontation over the mistress only to find out that the wife set up the whole thing to make him stand up on his own. And going forward they have a stronger marriage.

This is where the core lies for me. Why did he not? Could he not? Did she take him for granted. Was he too weak. When you reach a waterfall you can follow the river upstream or downstream.

The idea of her revenge by demonstrating her superiority a second time via his submissive does not appeal to me at all. It is just cruel.

Yes. King really jumped the shark after Wolves of the Calla and it got ridiculous when the characters popped into our world.

In my opinion the ending of the Stand was the only way it could have ended, to completely eliminate the threat a Flagg and the growing anarchy in Vegas. It's one of those situations where the writer paints themselves in a corner by creating a villain who is ... unbeatable?
