Shut'er down Chucky, shut're down.

60 votes are required to pass the CR in the Senate. The GOP currently holds 53 seats. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I told him that earlier. Waste of bandwidth, he obviously rides the short bus.
Double-Dutch dipshittery. The felon will blame the Dems no matter what. Everyone got the point besides you two senile drunkards.

Nope. You have it backwards.

"Regular order" (such as "continuing resolutions") require a simple 51-vote majority to pass in the Senate.

Anything OUTSIDE of regular order (like Trump's "fund the wall" request in his first term) can be stopped indefinitely via filibuster (60 votes).
Ishtard and BabyBoozer must have you on teh iggy.

Tada!!!! Give that man a cigar.

The Dems are screwed in all directions atm.

Then again, Politics is a fickle bitch….

Nobody in Canada would have bet on another Liberal election win 9 months ago…or that PP would lose his seat…. nobody!

Well, except Me… i said at the time that the Libs were playing the “trump is a bad man” card to do an end run on the Conservatives.

That is absolutely NOT true.

A continuing resolution in regular order (i.e. no GOP skullduggery amendments) requires 51 votes for passage.

Anything else requires 60 votes.

The true blood sport.

I didn't disagree and now Canada's stuck with the consequences. Carney really is more like an EU appointed governor than a PM.

So the GOP can pass the CR without having to break a filibuster?

I put your question into ChatGPT.

It came back with this:

[Elizabeth Holms riots] Geez, the case hasn’t even gone to the jury and the rioters in CA are already looting the high end fashion stores. If the verdict goes the wrong way the streets of Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and LA could be filled with blondes in black turtlenecks. Not even going to guess how this would all go down if she were black.

I notice you didn't deny your racism.

I stand by my posts.

Yes, in theory.

RINOs like Rand Paul and Lisa Murkowski like to play stupid games with continuing resolutions, so its not a "sure thing".

And lame duck Mitch McConnell indicated he might intentionally gum up the resolution for some "special concessions" for his home state Kentucky as payback for all the times the Republicans stabbed him in the back as majority leader.

I think he’s an excellent choice for these difficult times.

Most Canadians respect him, a quality in very short supply amongst politicians everywhere.

He is also respected globally for both his intellect and financial skills.

And he played hockey in the Ivy League.

🙄

And “trump IS a bad man”, so maybe “the Libs” ARE the ones who actually have a clue and should be in charge???

Protecting Americans huh? I'm looking forward to those dem politicians explaining all that 'protection' to the thousands that are about to lose their jobs............not furloughed, fired.

Nobody should be fired.

If they are, it's the administration who will do it. Lord knows they have no issue doing that.

Let's see, how does that work? Ahh yes, the democrats cut off the money but it's the republicans fault that they did so. Morons can rationalize the damnedest things.

Cutting off funds usually results in furloughs until the matter is resolved.

That's how that works.

So if firings happen, it's because the administration, as usual, does things abnormally.

THe majority of workers have been fired already.....the rest are yes men....no issue holding their paycheck so they can't do the admin's bidding.

Not this time Sparky, the dems are handing Trump the ability to clean house and the only way they can stop it is to pass the CR before them. And guess what, the overwhelming majority of those that will get canned live in the grater DC area and vote dem. Should work out real well for the dems in 26.
