Endless Ends

Why is my wardrobe so cold weather heavy?

Typically, we have less than two weeks of cold weather.

Maybe I should move. 🤔

Enny, you need a break from all that wardrobe stuff !

Stumbled on this today . . . saw the movie in a theater as a youngster . . . the cat and spider scenes scared the bejesus out of me ! Hadn't thought about it for years.

This may shock you, but I rewatched this about three months ago!

Agreed. That cat scene. 😳

I did indeed take a break from wardrobing.

Dark clouds rolled in and settled on a fine mist. I took the opportunity to do some outside stuff I've been putting off. Of course, I did get soaked, but it was totally worth it avoid the sun.

😎

Enny, I am sad to hear that you are experiencing SAD . . . but also a bit confused. I thought SAD typically starts in the late fall or early winter, with symptoms often worsening as the days get shorter and there's less sunlight, On the other hand, I do remember my summer days in Houston, completely sweating thru three golf gloves in 18 holes, so I can understand how one might get SAD down there dealing with the summer heat. 😬

That is the usual. About 10% are affected in the summer. Too much sun. Summer SAD is more likely the closer you get to the equator.

I usually manage the early months of summer, but by August is often rough. It varies from year to year.

Astrology has been on my mind lately. I had a book once - possibly still do as 3/4 of them are packed - that combined Chinese and Western Horoscope. Like, whether you were a Pisces Tiger or a Gemini Rat.

It was interesting.

In the last five years or so I ran across this astrological article that likened Capricorn and Taurus to the "unstoppable force" and "immovable object" paradox, respectively.

Amusing.

That's all. I have no point. 💁‍♀️

Yet . . . Capricorn and Taurus share excellent compatibility as they are both Earth signs, fostering a strong, grounded relationship built on shared values of stability, ambition, and financial security. However, their grounded natures can also lead to potential conflict, with Capricorn's ambition sometimes perceived as workaholism and Taurus's desire for comfort potentially seen as laziness, creating communication challenges and stubborn disagreements if not addressed through clear, honest communication and a mutual respect for each other's approaches.

A Capricorn soulmate is often found in other Earth signs (Taurus and Virgo), who share similar values of stability, ambition, and practicality, or in Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces), which provide emotional depth and balance. A Capricorn soulmate will value loyalty, respect their ambition and need for independence, and provide a stable, trustworthy partnership.

Done. 💪

Pond dug and fallen trees cut and hauled. Dead branches removed. Warred with invasive plants. Burned stumps. Circumvented erosion and seeded native grasses. Rescued two cedars elms, curated the Maze Garden, and added an additional obscured entrance to the Secret Garden. Cultivated ground space for wildflowers and researched seed bombs. Cleared for pollinator garden.

This mid-90's heat has been a kicker, but I am officially finished with outside work, aside from general maintenance, until winter tree trimming. *thunk*

There are two more things on the agenda, however I am not doing thee. Path into the Maze and around pond. And wasps.

Path - While I do rather pride myself on being able to tackle anything I set my mind to, that is just heavy work. I mean, technically I probably could do it, but it would likely take me six months.

Wasps - Way back somewhen in the dark part of the Secret Garden. The nest seems to be large, yet remains elusive. Time for a professional. They swarm at the mower vibration. 😬

*settles in to soak stings with colloidal oatmeal*

I do like a good earth sign. 😎

The September 2025 full moon, also known as the Corn Moon, will peak on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:09 p.m. Eastern time, though it will be visible for stargazers shortly after sunset on the same evening. It's a notable event because it's also a total lunar eclipse, which will be visible in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia, India, Cairo, and South Africa, but not in North America. In the Northern Hemisphere, the Corn Moon is the final full moon of the summer.

Tthe Corn Moon, symbolizes release, reflection, and spiritual connection. It invites you to slow down, reconnect with your intuition, and prepare for the seasonal shift from summer to fall.

The Corn Moon may be my second favorite moon simply because it heralds the end of summer and the seemingly endless ☀️

Wolf Moon is my favorite.

Naturally.

Today I am sitting around, watching movies, doing Legos, and eating soft food.

And grumbling.

Lots and lots of grumbling and complaining and general complaining.

My forte. :p

Right now I'm watching Night of the Tommyknockers (2022).

Western Horror.

It's about what you'd expect. :p

The Tommyknockers seem to be some form of extra large mutated leprechaun, which is . . . new? 🤣

Are you starting a Halloween countdown, movie style?

I’ve been a bit MIA…soft foods?
Soft food no longer. 😎

She’s been doing a lot of Underground Barbwire Cage Fighting.

She took a few to the mouth, spit the shards of her teeth into the eyes of her opponent, then kicked his ass.

Enny isn’t the sweet, innocent girl we all think.
This. This was totally why. :D

So, wildlife story . . . yeah, I don't remember what number I'm at. 🤣

Last night, the SO went to be early. About ten minutes later I hear what sounds like a loud thunk on the floor above. Loud enough that I went to the bottom of the stairs.

Me: Are you okay?
SO: Yeah . . . .

Needles to say, this did not fill me with confidence.

Me: What happened?
SO: You don't want to know.
Me: 😳

No words could have sent me sprinting up the stairs faster.

I get up there and the SO is stumbling around, looking for something. He grabs a cloth, and is being remarkably evasive supplying information. Eventually I realized we were talking about some . . . thing.

Me: 😳
Me: Lizard?! Spider?! Snake?!

He keeps saying No. Then, it clicked.

Me: SCORPION?!

He nods.

SO: If fell out from around the AC vent onto the bed, landing on the covers on top of my thigh.
Me: *has a hard time breathing while body considers an aneurysm*

SO: I've been thinking I should seal around those grates.
Me: 😲😲😲

Me: You mean you knew this was a possibility? You knew?!
SO: Well, there is that one tree that hangs well over the house.

I will spare you the scene that followed.

It was about 4am when I decided the couch was just too uncomfortable. 😬

Two things have come from this:

1) The grate surrounds are now sealed.
2) LED flashlights have been ordered*

*Scorpions glow under LED.

Oh, also, the thunk wasn't something falling. It was the SO saying a very bad word once he realized what was in his hand. Bizarrely, he did not get stung. 🤷‍♀️

Do you need full spectrum or black light LEDs for this effect? Cause regular old LED can be just regular lights you know.
