When Boomers like most of us here on the PB were growing up, ABC, CBS, NBC, and a few major newspapers, most notably the New York Times and Washington Post, held incredible sway over public opinion. Liberal bias was a fact of life.

Times have changed. We’re no longer dependent on the Six O’clock News and the morning paper for news and information. Along came cable news (Ted Turner), and then the web. Influence now is consumed and nurtured digitally via streaming platforms, podcasts, independent news outlets, and of course social media.

Some of the most powerful people in charge of major influence platforms are wildly successful capitalists:

Larry Ellison and his son David who control Paramount Global (which owns CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, and Showtime). Soon they will control Warner Brothers/Discovery (which owns which owns CNN and HBO) Oracle is also about to get a stake in TikTok and have oversight of the data.

The Murdoch family which controls Fox News and the Wall Street Journal

Elon Musk who owns and runs Twitter/X

Jeff Bezos who owns the Washington Post.

BabyBoomer50s being racist:

[Elizabeth Holms riots] Geez, the case hasn’t even gone to the jury and the rioters in CA are already looting the high end fashion stores. If the verdict goes the wrong way the streets of Walnut Creek, San Francisco, and LA could be filled with blondes in black turtlenecks. Not even going to guess how this would all go down if she were black.

I notice you didn't deny your racism.

I stand by my posts.

That's why you're all so stupid, you were spoonfed propaganda and you ate it up.

Indeed, many boomers did lap up what the broadcast networks and major newspapers spit out. Many boomers on this board still do.
You and your kids were publicly educated.

Are you all idiots?

Quit pretending like you aren't part of the fucking problem, drunkard.
