We didnt have central heating until I bought my 2nd house in 95.

When I was young at my parents, mum kept saying shut the door, you will let all the heat out from the gas fire

God storage heaters in a new build. That’s the builder being cheap.

Yes. Was about 100 years old. I was the third owner. No insulation either. Place must have been freezing esp as it had holes in the roof which must have been recent as no real water damage.

We only had central heating put in in the early 80s. Did have life saving electric blankets though.

They had heating there due to the snow and didn't want to go back to not having it, same wuth a colour tv

Managed to walk along parallel bars and backwards to chair. Then step up onto a 2" block and over, turn around and step up and over block again, turn around back into chair
