The "I don't want to talk about AI" thread, and the new topic is: I'm tired of publishing times as well!

Or, you could go to Paris Maine, which is much nicer. It's just between Norway, to the southwest of it, and Peru, to the northeast of it. China is about 40 or 50 miles away.

Paris, Maine is a relatively urban village for the area; it has a stop light. I had friends who grew up a half hour away who went to Paris to learn city driving. I think they may have two traffic lights now.

Don't forget Oxford to the south!

England Women beat France to set up a Rugby World Cup final with Canada. I have a group of friends coming round to watch the final and the bronze medal final next weekend. We've been watching rugby together since the 1990s.

A good audiobook is the perfect carrot to make me go on my daily walks. Nearing the business end of "The Lord of the Rings" now.
I listen to them when I run. My biggest objection to running was always that it was so boring. A good book fixes that problem.

I've been on my feet for the past *maths real quick" 15 hours and I have about two or three hours left.

I also made a beef stir fry and bread and butter pudding.Screenshot_20250921-130115.pngScreenshot_20250921-130057 (1).jpg

And I also made a double batch of beef stew with homemade broth, a batch of chicken soup with homemade broth, peanut butter oatmeal cookies, jello made with gelatin sheets and cherry juice, peanut butter cup brownies, and grilled chicken.

I only had to make the beef stir fry. The rest was just because I can't help myself as I like cooking.

The wife and I have booked a trip to Paris. Despite all our travels, we've never been there together.
I strongly recommend you avoid the Champ-de-Mars and the Eiffel Tower; it is completely overrun by people selling tourist tat and pickpockets. Sacré-Cœur is beautiful, so is the Pantheon. Notre-Dame might be open again in which case you have to go. Look for the stalls selling paintings near Pont Neuf, there is often beautiful stuff for sale there for not-very-much. Papilla (9 Rue Soufflot) does really nice pasta. Montparnasse Cemetery is nearby too.

I love Paris, especially when you get out of the touristy hellholes and explore the little back streets of the old city.

Thanks for the tips. We won't be buying art, though: we have too much already.
