The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Up. Waking, kinda. It's load-n-pack day and a (we beseech the heavens) short day at the job site. Another bag of kibble and maybe a few gifted cans of wet for Site Kitteh are on the list.

I ordered my b-day self-prezzie last night. It'll be here a bit early, but so what? Wat is the type who would celebrate Xmas in April if'n he wanted to . . . .
What are you getting for your birthday? I hope you love it! 🎁

When I was still mailing them, my family used to have to wait for their Christmas presents until sometimes July. I'm such a procrastinator! I always thought it would be cool to get random presents wrapped in Christmas paper in the middle of summer! 😅😅

Thanks Lili. My grandmother was the local feral cat rescue lady. She had indoor cats on and off, but always had a ton of freeloaders hanging around that she’d feed and patch up after kitty benders. They were never the cute and cuddly types. The cats up at the farm were hardened barn cats that wouldn’t let you near them. If you saw the size of rats you’d understand. I grew up with a healthy respect of and no particular love of cats.

Our cat OTOH was awesome! Never shredded curtains, was always good to the kids. Even when they stepped on his tail or pulled his ears when they were babes. He didn’t deserve to go out like that, and I’ve always felt responsible…

Was going to take a little car trip down to Charleston to get SWMBO out of the house. She’s been cooped up and having to mentally juggle our various med issues. She’s getting…frayed around the edges. I tried to send her on the Big-Ol’-Jet airliner back to TX, but there’s just more drama there so she hard passed.

Been hot…wish it would cool off more. Ye Ole’ Country MZ——everyone have a great start to the weekend!

We always had dogs and cats growing up. I got my first dog of my own when I was wanting a baby. I was in no position to have a baby at that time. Since I was ultimately unable to have a baby of my own, my dogs became my babies.

I hope you're able to get Mrs. H away for a little trip! 🥰

Ok... i told my parents that my sister and i are going to stop sending 24 hrs a day here.... they seemed ok

My dad should be able to drive soon
I'm glad you're not going to be spending all your time with your folks. It's fine if you're well but you've been sick as well. You can't get better taxing yourself. 🫂🤗🫂

Nope and they wouldnt give it to me... her boss in a casual convo

Her talking about a difficult process
Me: wow that is so hard. I am glad i am not in charge of that ... i never want to be in charge when stuff like this comes up
Her: dont worry you wont be (snotty)
Me: probably for the best

I am not tge company man and they dont like it... i however dont care

The person i expect will get the job is someone who asks providers and other professionals what their secret sauce is to their success... and when congratulating them says awesomesauce.... she is company... and if she becomes mgr can stay over there and leave me alone

She has no idea what i do and i am not going to do her job and let her take the credit
I'm always amazed at companies that do not recognize and grow those with leadership potential. Your boss's boss sounds like an insecure person.

Thursday we poked around PA after our haunted house experience. Then went due north to Lake Erie. They went along the shoreline all the way to Buffalo and to niagra falls.

Was never a bucket list thing but it was super impressive!

I like this video of the false and if you look close enough, there are a bunch of Canadian geese just hanging out right on the edge of the falls!

Then we went about 2 1/2 hours east to visit a friend of mine from work near Rochester, New York.

Great day!
Niagara Falls is definitely on my bucket list! I love waterfalls!

I had a busy day today. I've started working on my powder room painting project. The walls are painted; I'm going to do some stenciling with a darker blue paint with glitter mixed in.

I have a floating shelf that was originally in my bathroom that's going in the powder room. The holder for it is a gold metal. I sanded it down today and sprayed two coats of primer on it. Tomorrow I will paint it the base wall color. The shelf is glass; I'm hoping it will look like it is virtually floating from the wall.

I also pulled weeds from the giant pots lined up by the driveway. They've sprung up fierce since I got the watering system done. I pulled enough weeds from the 7 pots to fill up my pink wheelbarrow!

I transplanted two bulb-type plants (IDK what they are) into a slightly smaller pot because I wanted to use the large pot they were in for eucalyptus that was part of a planting bucket a neighbor brought me last year. Everything else in the bucket died but, somehow, the eucalyptus is still alive. IDK how. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's a good thing I decided to repot it. The pot it was in was one of those temporary tubs, kind of like a fiber. The bottom was completely gone!

Now, I just have to see if the eucalyptus will grow in its new home. I was going to take pictures but forgot. I'll take some tomorrow and post.

Have a good sleep, those of you stateside, to get ready for the weekend! Those of you in the old world have already started yours! 💝✨💖

I like that! Spread the joy of Christmas to all year, anytime!

I do too but it being such a tourist attraction sort of left it out there. But since we were only gonna be 100 miles away I figured why not.

It was actually very cool.

75,000 gallons a second go over those falls. It’s massive and the power of the water is amazing!

Maybe that’s where we should have our 2nd annual lit together!
