I've nearly completed one of my very few (to date) stories. A brash chancer of a businessman has a wouldn't-say-boo-to-a-goose wife who has always been under his thumb and completely obedient, loyal etc. - a 1950s-type housewife - while he has played the field throughout their married life together, thinking she is unaware of his infidelities.

They are now in their mid-40s. That's the setting.

The ending is that she cuckolds him behind his back - and with a woman. It doesn't happen as the result of deliberate "vengeance planning" on her part but more of a natural development as she blossoms finally into her true sexuality and exits the "closet".

I'm interested in what kind of woman people might suggest could be her seducer and how it all comes about. I have my own ideas but other thoughts are very welcome.

Yes, that would make sense.

Alternatively, given the wife is a timid little thing, have the lesbian as a more predatory type who sees the womanising of the husband as her 'way into' befriending her. She leads him on deliberately into thinking she's another conquest for him to aspire to... when really it's the wife who's her target.

The success of a writer here would be in describing how the woman plans deviously and successfully to mislead the husband and spend time alone with the wife.

I really like the scenario here and the possibility of having some decently fleshed-out characters.

I'll second that. For me the best Idea I've seen here in a long while with some real thought put into it. Definite potential for an actual story (as opposed to most of the shlok submitted to Lit.) with development of characters and nice, slow-burn plot(ting!).

I'm flattered by the compliments, of course, but am still hoping to find a red-hot suggestion for the female MC. I find my own version less than convincing and would be happy to change tack, even if it means twisting some of the plot.

The former, surely. I see her as being the story's central driving force. Personally I'd like a character to whom we could give a past - possibly a trail of previous "targets"? Some of these could be alluded to while describing her thoughts as she plans her latest conquest.

That would be good. Maybe one who's had to change location because things have become too hot elsewhere. She's on the prowl for her first submissive... but can herself play the innocent ingenue to the husband, thus allowing her closer contact with her target.

Reminds me of Lily Merrill (played by Peggy castle) of 'Lawman'. Old west Saloon Keeper (we know what they did back then) moved to a new town and had to start over.

Exactly that. She'd be able to address both sides of the issue. Potential here for a light and dark lady, able to tease the hubby but dominate and bring out the real sexuality of the wife.

Yes, I did see the seducer as being the central focus and have written it mainly from her angle. I think it's the potential complexity of the character which has intimidated me and I've churned out something less than satisfactory as a result. That's why I put up the thread.

Still, I'm now receiving a bit of support from a kind contributor and I think it's going to come good. Thanks to everyone.

Sure. Their eyes meet in a café and there's a connection. An attraction. Something the married woman has scarcely let herself acknowledge much less entertain.

The hours later she's in library or bookstore when the waitress turns the corner and doesn't look surprised at all to see her. The young woman looks at the bookshelf. "See anything that interests you?"
