So there's a couple of things. When your foot gets touched, the signal has to travel up to your brain, right? Well it just so happens that the part of the brain that receives that signal is right next to the part of your brain that deals with sexual pleasure. Science believes the foot fetish exists because of this proximity. Maybe in some people they're more close than others, or might even partially overlap.

I used to have a foot fetish but it was never particularly strong. I think generally it turns me on to give my partner pleasure in any way... Anytime she's reacting positively it's a turn on, so it was something I was willing to do. Other than that, the scent can actually be nice. Maybe it's pheromones, idk, but feet don't necessarily always have a bad smell, for me. Lastly, it's just freaky/kinky and that turns me on to be not vanilla.

I've somewhat lost my sense of smell due to COVID. Even when I'm cooking, I can barely smell it. To the extent I can pick up random scents, it's usually something negative like I can kinda smell when something is on fire. This has translated to my sex life as well. I share a lot of this but in my usual way - and in the mess that is my head - it's massively over-complicated.

I know that for me, it goes back to my earliest school days. We'd play games on the garden using my Grandma's large clothes horse as either a tent or a climbing frame.
